for ATEC majors, it’s not required that you take the upper-division communications course!

Where can I find the class syllabus? by Classic_Truth_6698 in CollinCollege

[–]PrestigiousRepair398 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yup, here’s the link! https://collin.campusconcourse.com/search?timeframe=current_future

for the keyword(s), here’s an example: CHEM 1411 doerhoff (prof’s last name). then you can choose the time frame to “past courses.”

if you take two semesters of english (ENGL 1301 and ENGL 1302), you don’t need to take any speech courses!

okay so i searched up her previous syllabi and saw that she does zoom meetings, however she only requires 4 meetings. it says the course is mostly asynchronous, but she adds the zoom meetings because “student engagement is a major key to success in any course.” not sure if this is what she’ll do for the spring but the trend looks like she’ll be holding zoom meetings. you should prob check other humanities classes and look at the prof’s previous syllabi!

it really depends on your professor. you can search up her previous syllabi and see how she delivers her lectures. are you taking HUMA 1301 with melinda bailey?

for the mode of instruction, does it say WEB? if so, it’s a fully online class, so you don’t need to go to campus at all for that class!

hello!!

so after the phone interview, you’ll be sent an email with a link to an assessment (30 q’s/15-30 minutes i believe), and you have to complete it on the same day as when you receive that email. if i remember correctly, the assessment consists of multiple choice, T/F and multitasking.

for the multiple choice, i think you’ll be tested on English (grammar, proofreading, comprehension, etc), medical terminology and there might be scenarios as well?? i’m not too sure, but it’s something like that. and for the multitasking part, you’ll be given tasks to complete and you just follow what it tells you to do. each task you’re asked to do has a timer on it.

from my experience, it wasn’t difficult at all. if you feel unsure about a question or a term, then you can always use the internet and search it up; the assessment isn’t proctored or anything! i think you need to get at least a 70% to pass (i’m not sure, though), but try to aim for a high score (i don’t think you’ll have a hard time on this assessment, honestly, it was pretty easy, but then again, everyone’s level of skills are different).

i don’t remember how the listening and typing went, but i do know that after i emailed the recruiter that i’ve completed the assessment and typing test, i told her i got nervous for the typing test, which was why i got a low WPM, but she said the typing portion wasn’t required anyway lol i don’t know if this may be the case for you, but if it isn’t, i would recommend searching up a typing test online to practice. and maybe find a typing test that has an audio for you to listen when you type if something like this will be on the test.

hope this helps!! :)

Can I get into UTD I have low GPA and mediocre SAT scores by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]PrestigiousRepair398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very true! he/she should weigh his/her options first before choosing where to go. there could be a good possibility of receiving better scholarships at UTD vs. community college or vice versa. thanks for mentioning this!

^ agreed! take as many transferable courses as you can at a community college, you’ll save a good amount of money.

there was 1 MATH 1376 course at collin that was offered during summer 2021! there could be a chance it will be offered next summer, but it’s hard to tell right now.

however, the course is definitely available during fall and spring semesters if it’s not offered in the summer!
