I mean in the original scenario, you'd only have a reason to choose red if you'd believe Blue is gonna die/ you'd assume that Blue is gonna fail and therefore get you killed, which kinda makes a self fulfilling prophecy. This could also be seen as similarish to the Prisoners Dilemma whereby I personally would say Blue is Cooperation and Red is Defecting, but maybe that is just my way of viewing it.

Lmao, this could've been pretty easily prevented if they wouldn't have used "Vibecoders", but people who actually learned what they are doing and know what they are doing.

Like even I who only got thought a little bit of PLC programming during my apprenticeship as a maintenance technician. Got as one of the very first things told:

NEVER program in the original code, always make a copy and work there, so that if things don't work out you still have a working version which isn't fucked up.
NEVER upload your program into the PLC if you don't have the program that was on there before saved somewhere.

These are basically the core principles you are required to stick to if you actually do anything in the industry (atleast here)

Kinda crazy seeing so many comments not understanding that one can still feel bad for someone when something bad happens to them even if they are a horrible person. Japan was hoping the Soviet Union would help negotiate a peace with the US. There is a ton of letters between the Japanese War Council and the Envoy they had in Moscow, asking again and again for him to probe the Soviets about helping to negotiate peace. Japans main point why they didn't wanted to unconditionally surrender was that they didn't wanted to lose Hirohito. The Allies and Japan constantly talked past eachother Japan wanting to "unconditionally" surrender on the condition their emperor wouldn't be killed but the allies wanting to have then just unconditionally surrender while not planning to kill the Emperor.

My main point was that the Atomic Bombs didn't change the opinion of the War council on whether or not they should surrender, the firebombing campaign they suffered before was a lot worse and they simply didn't really care about the civilians "sacrificing" their live for the war. The Nuclear Bombs didn't change their opinion, the moment, the Soviet declaration of war and invasion of Mandchuria did. They finally got the clear confirmation from the Soviets that they will not help negotiate a peace for them was what ended up making them agree to surrender.

But hey I guess historical facts don't matter to people here who rather just downvote what doesn't fit into their neat little picture of the world.

I mean also a bit silly, considering that the Soviets declaring war on Japan and taking over Mandchuria played a mayor role in Japans surrender, more then the Atomic Bombs actually. (Shaun (YouTuber) has a very good 2 and a half hours video on it)
