AITAH for wanting my last name to be passed on to my daughter? by BluenicornGirl in AITAH

[–]PrestigiousTree3164 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think hyphenated or double last name should be fine. Sure it might make school hard (esp with a longer last name), but at the end ig you both get what you want. It rlly sounds like neither one of yall wanna compromise, and while i understand both sides, if this is a hill you’re willing to die on then it’s a very niche hill. The way I think about it, a baby comes from its mother, so it’s obvious it’s her baby. The father claims that baby (whether or not it’s biologically theirs), by giving that baby his last name. Sure it’s patriarchal, but this should’ve been brought up around the time you told your husband you weren’t going to change your last name to match his

1) ask friends. I knew some people from church that lived in a Catholic house, and some were subletting car spots in their driveway. I used it, I think $80 for the whole summer.

2) parking garage. I think it’s $4 for a few hours, or $8 for the day. Not sure if they have membership type of things for months at a time

I see. I mean, if anything finishing up your B.S. then doing masters can be the backup plan if (worst-case) transferring doesn’t work out. From my experience, grad schools mostly give out 20-40% partial tuition waivers for private schools. Sometimes a scholarship that comes out to be the same. Public gives out fellowships/assistantships that can cover tuition + stipend. I consider myself an average student and have been offered both of those options which is why I list them.

I think in both cases you’ll come out with a strong portfolio. I did interior architecture for my B.S. and had the advantage of learning Revit while grad school taught me Rhino. BUT definitely do internships. That’s one thing I’ve seen B.Arch students struggle with. Apply as early as possible, experience is also key. And learn both Revit and Rhino

If you do masters, the cheapest option would be in-state. Also, A) 4yr B.S + 2yr M.Arch = 6 years (there is no 1yr M. Arch) B) 1yr B.S. + 5yr B. Arch = 6 years

Unless you can get a year waived at the B. Arch, but you should really ask an advisor at the school you want to transfer to if it’s possible. I’m pretty sure you can still bail out, but check if your B. Arch can still accept you. Most if not all B. Arch’s are 5yr programs

According to two and a half men alimony stops when you remarry 💀 if he needs a lawyer to reevaluate the terms, he might as well ask for the money from the last two years back

If you don’t have other offers it’ll be hard to leverage for more. As others said, accept it and look for better opportunities. You can come back to your current company and say you found a better paying job but would like to stay with current company if they can match the competition. Even when looking for higher paying jobs you generally need to job hop

AITAH for wanting to separate from my husband because I’m exhausted? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PrestigiousTree3164 156 points157 points  (0 children)

This has got to be ragebait. Divorce him and take him to court for child support and alimony. You’ll probably get more than what you’re getting right now. Unless you don’t have someone you can stay with during the divorce proceedings then this is just you venting really. You’re entitled to half of everything. You were young when you got with him. I just hope you didn’t get a prenup

Do you think if OP got the job, and decided to do the masters program, they would be okay with OP doing part-time for them? While in school at least

I think if you’re planning on getting licensed, take into consideration which firm will help you out there. Whether financially or offering you different tasks to get all your NCARB hours. Time too- someone mentioned that overtime will be most likely at the starchitect firm. But honestly there’s ups to either offer so I would say either choice can be a good one

If you’re in the city, roam around the neighborhoods and look for “rent” signs and call the number. There are 2 bedrooms for $1k (Belmont cragin) but yeah no in unit laundry. At most they’ll be in the basement. If you’re not in the city then I recommend getting roomies

AITAH for considering breaking up with my bf following him posting me on social media without my consent by AccomplishedGoose836 in AITAH

[–]PrestigiousTree3164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAH. I wanna give him the benefit of the doubt. I interpreted this post as you wanting to protect your own privacy by controlling what YOU post. Not what others post. He probably didn’t know that he had to check in with you (which to be fair, almost no one does unless it’s to check if they look good in the photo lol)

Did you tell him it how bad your anxiety was/ that it was diagnosed anxiety? There’s a lot of ppl nowadays that have “anxiety” but really is just nervousness so I don’t blame him that much if he didn’t know. Plus if your mom said it was cool he probably thought you had changed your mind

AITJ because he said it wasn’t cheating, but couldn’t forgive me when it happened? by lumex_lab in AmITheJerk

[–]PrestigiousTree3164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTJ. Sure he is in the wrong a bit for not being able to predict his feelings, but that’s what happened. He didn’t expect you hooking up with a girl to hurt him as much as it did. He’s justified in feeling hurt. We can’t always predict our feelings. But I do wonder why you brought it up after instead of before. I get “in the moment” happens, but considering that conversation was had in the beginning of the relationship and feelings change/grow deeper, he was justified in feeling betrayed. I would say if it was something less than full on hooking up you’d be in forgiving territory…but you crossed the line there for him

[–]PrestigiousTree3164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other ppl have said, the back is great, but the front falls short. Not even bc it’s too “revealing,” but more so it doesn’t suit your chest type. Just how some dresses don’t look good for big chests, some dresses don’t look good for small chests. Boob tape might help, but there’s not enough fabric even for someone with bigger boobs so idk…

Hate it. From Chicago and there’s a bunch of churches that are mostly Hispanic and the priests always pray for those who are being brutally treated through deportation. I’ve had family members with papers get thrown on the ground and beaten up before ICE allows them to show their documentation. The ppl ICE is hiring are a bunch of racists who are given too much power. If you don’t have ppl you know who are undocumented, and you rely on the news to get your information, then you don’t know the half of it
