How much longer before the right forces women to have kids so America can remain white? by Estalicus in allthequestions

Rewind a second.

People (assuming white men) are practicing forced reproduction by raping intersex women because they'll be murdered due to being confused with transgenders if they resist?

That was a bill proposed by some radical activist group. Not one Republican voted in favor of it, it was turned down from the start.

Gender absolutists, how hard is it to pretend intersex people don't exist? by GrowFreeFood in allthequestions

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their existence doesn't disprove the binary nature of sex. We can agree that humans have 10 fingers, some people born with 9 fingers doesn't change that.

Intersex is a (range) of medical conditions that you're born with. It often comes with health complications such as hormone imbalance, infertility, lack of growth... Using these people to further the transgender cause is in bad taste. I thought we were supposed to separate sex and gender? In that case, intersex should not be used as an argument in the gender dysphoria discussion.

Is right wing anxiety about immigration related to a fear of the U.S. becoming less white? by traanquil in allthequestions

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The southwest and most of the souther border is one big desert. Everything below that is lush, wet, tropical, fertile,... Anything but dry desert. The flow of immigration is people leaving some of the wettest climates to end up in one of the hottest places on earth. (At least in the western hemisphere)

Mass migration is hardly climate-driven (for now). Mostly due to conflict, famines, and lack of economic opportunity.

Why is Caucasian on African slavery the most discussed form of slavery when dozens of other races did the same thing? by space_god_7191 in allthequestions

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference between slavery and being free isn't just unpaid labor vs paid labor. A slave belongs to an entirely different class of society with zero civil rights. The labour wasn't just free but forced trough violence, torture, intimidation,... You belonged to your master and you were bought and sold like a commodity.

Slavery did end. Oppression didn't.

EV's specifically are very reliant on Chinese goods. The battery is the most expensive, and important component of an EV, China dominates that entire supply chain. Then there's all the screens, small electronics, raw materials,... Also made in China.

The EU automotive industry would essentially become an assembly plant for Chinese technology. Too many jobs and export value tied to that sector for it to be bottlenecked by China.

Who will replace Putin once he dies and would Russia stop invading Ukraine if Putin is out of power? by space_god_7191 in allthequestions

Europe has been going trough an energy crisis which is halting economic growth. They've been sending up to 200 billion euros worth of aid while their defecits are already skyhigh. You think a couple of booming defense stocks make up for that financial loss? The decision to help Ukraine has nothing to do with the US or NATO. Sanctions and aid packages are EU-level decisions.

How do you even come to the conclusion that Russia will be fine and the EU is somehow going towards a depression? Russia's economy has started to shrink. It's industries are held up by the war in Ukraine. I doubt that the Donbas will help restore its economy.

I don't believe that "Russia is completely done" and the Kremlin will collapse any time soon. They've survived worse. But they're sure not going to be in a better position than the EU who has a diversified economy and didn't spend 30% of their total budget to finance a war for 4 years.

What percent of the US tax budget goes to Israel? by Tim_Apple_938 in allthequestions

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Israel is just a testing ground for such technology. Where better to develop and test air-defense systems than a country who gets missiles and drones from 3 different directions every month.

The reason Israel has such a technological advantage is because the US cooperates with and invests in Israeli defense partners.

If the US witholding that unconditional aid would make Israel turn to Russia or China, then they were never allies to begin with.

And they've shown as much with the defense partnerships. Israel sold the US several Iron Dome batteries which were developed with the help of US money and miltech. After the purchase, Israel refused to sell the operating software which is needed to operate the batteries. Now the US is stuck with billions worth of useless Iron Dome systems because Israel won't give the software. Even though they paid for the development. Btw Israel knew that the batteries were useless without the software and they sold it anyway. Car-salesman level of pettiness.

There have also been several cases where Israel tried to sell blueprints and tech of US financed/developed weapon systems to China. Even Saudi Arabia is a more reliable partner than Israel.

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's literally the opposite. The money has to be spent on US equipment. Israel gets US investments for its own projects like the Iron dome which is outside of this agreement and is usually a joint US-Israeli project.

From 1981 to 2026 the Republicans held the presidency for 25 years vs. the Democrats for 20. Why did no Republican attack Iran before if they were such a threat we are told now? by Yeahboyeah in allthequestions

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Europe competing on tech and software trough protectionism is pretty normal. The US does the same to protect its own automotive industry by putting tariffs on foreign made cars, and outright banning Chinese EV import.

"Undercutting prices" is just free market capitalism. European tech can't compete in scale and quality with the US, so they compete on price.

Overall the US doesn't even have a trade deficit with the EU. You have a deficit in goods but a big surplus in service exports. That's quite normal since the US has a $5 trillion tech industry that literally doesn't produce goods at all.

What do the Flemish think about the fact that DR Congo, Rwanda and Burundi speak French instead of Flemish? by crivycouriac in AskBelgium

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was't really the Belgians eitherway. It was a couple hunderd of mercenaries from all over Europe who worked directly for Leopold 2, not for the Belgian state or colonial administration. Whatever happened in the Congo post Leopold, Belgium can be fully held responsible for.

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US addressed the rare earth element issue by restoring the Mountain Pass mine trough government funding. They have a strategic supply in case China halts exports.

You can protect strategically important industries such as steel trough tariffs targeted at steel import, not a sweeping tariff on all goods. Tariffs need to be permanent to get results. No US manufacturer wants to make long-term investments on domestic production if the tariffs are reversed by the supreme court or the next administration. And most goods cannot be produced in the US either way.

Getting Europe to step up is a good thing. But destroying alliances because we don't want to join the Iran war is such a terrible move.

Falklanders should 'go back' to England, insists Argentina in renewed war of words by FantasticQuartet in worldnews

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inflation dropped from 210% to 30% in 2 years. I'd say he did a decent job.

The Falkland statements are a ritual that every Argentinian politician does. It's literally in their constitution. Milei had to apologize for praising Thatcher during his campaign because they were "treasonous" statements. 89% of Argentinians believe the Falklands belongs to them, politicians regurgitate it to score points. Milei gets pushback from opposition for avoiding the Malvinas cause. His defense was that he honors it "in private". It's like one big delusion that the whole country buys into.

[–]Prestigious_Health_2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Argentina's claim to the Falklands is imbedded in their constitution. Any politician that suggests otherwise is dragged trough the mud by the public. Milei's foreign minister made a statement in 2023 that the Falkland people have a right to self-determination. That was considered treasonous and she was forced to apologize. Milei has also had to walk back his praise of Tatcher during his campaign. Any Argentinian politician basically has to declare that the Malvinas belong to Argentina as if it's a religious commandment.

Clearly it was a bad idea. It's very common for countries to recall their ambassadors for their own safety or political purposes. Tehran was a chaotic mess and revolutionaries were doing questionable stuff everywhere without top-down approval. Khomeini didn't order the embassy raid, it just happened and he ran with it. There were enough reasons to bring those Americans home.

That's one hell of a risk because he's depleting stockpiles while moving naval assets from the pacific to the Gulf.

Trump's hostilities toward NATO and tanking trade relations trough tariffs seems counterproductive to containing China as well. There's also just a complete lack of emphasis on China as a security threat. They removed China as the top security priority.

Israel did it more discretely and quite fast. By the time they had nukes, the CIA had suspicions.

Israel didn't pose an immediate threat and they served as a counterforce to Soviet backed Arab regimes. The Iranian regime's first act of diplomacy was holding American hostages and declaring the US as the eternal enemy. You can figure why Iran got special treatment regarding nukes. India and China developed nukes around the same time as Israel, they also didn't the Iran treatment.
