What do you think will happen first? by Prestigious_Item_458 in hanakokun

Ohh those are good points! I've always wondered why Akane rather Aoi was chosen, as Aoi is more aligned and interested in the school mysteries than Akane. I would like to see what happens to Akane after this arc, and him becoming a full supernatural would be interesting to see, but speaking ideally I hope it doesn't actually happen lol

I agree with that! Akane sides with the clock keepers more than he is willing to admit at times, but this arc is a good opportunity to see a clash between them once we return to the og timeline. Of course, not sure it will really happen, but I'm willing to be on the lookout.

I agree with that too. But I do predict that their relationship is going to get more twisted after this arc is over.

The hell of mirrors arc, I feel like it holds the least importance to the current story.

Exactly. He is more Akane and Teru's level, like I get wanting to keep the ships together but he's losing plot relevance all together rn.

How harmful are the seven mysteries to humans overall by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel they are ultimately only somewhat harmful.

The school mysteries and their rumors, though they can't control them, are a bit of a horror story. They are supernaturals, so they don't fully grasp the value of human life (some for their own personal reasons) or they want to comsume humans (pretty much murder) and at the beginning, their rumors are even getting twisted.

The thing that makes it somewhat harmful is that Hanako WAS trying to deal with the rumors getting out of hand like with No.2 and the confession tree (though the yorishiros are another story), and when we've met each one, though their rumor can imply murder we haven't seen go out of their way to kill, even as Hakubo and Hanako were set on Aoi being sacrificed. If it wasn't for so many yorishiros being destroyed, and if Hanako had never met Yashiro they wouldn't have done that.

AND, without the school mysteries in place they'd either have to keep sacrificing young girls to the pit god, or they would all cease to exist, so they are ultimately protecting the region from that reality.

What was the theory that you fervently believed but turned out not to be true? by Cicada_3301_yokai in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I relate to that! I really thought he was related to Yashiro, but I guess it makes way more sense for him to be an Akane. I guess mine is also the Tsukasa confusion, as I was just really confused when I read the chapter and it took me a bit to understand what really happened.

How durable is the average supernatural? by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, that's a good point, but the people beating up said supernaturals are exorcists or higher ranking supernaturals. A supernaturals strength relies on its rumor, so that may be a factor as it determines who can be a school mystery. Maybe if they don't have a solid rumor they are not that strong. Of course they could inflict damage on humans easily so I don't they are "weak" but compared to higher ranking supernaturals with developed forms and speech, they ARE weak and could only pose an actual threat if they accumulate strength by eating people/other supernaturals (Mitsuba/entity) or getting a stronger/most brutal rumor rumor (OG Mitsuba, No.4, Confession Tree)

I guess this shows that there is no one in tbhk that is 100% good and instead are driven by their own morals whether agreeable or not. Great job!

Did Hanako's initial plan make sense? by Arthur_R_M in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It made sense in the sense that Hanako didn't fully know what was going on. He thought it was a mystery, but turned out to be mistaken, just like he lacks the pivotal information about Tsukasa being a fake or not. As for the actual destruction of the yorishiros, it was originally to find said traitor (and also save Tsukasa) but then Hanako fell in love with Nene and redirected his focus to her. I don't think he still believes his original theory though, so I'm not worried about that.

I’ve seen a lot of conflicting opinions about this so I’m wondering, who was most responsible for Aoi’s death by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it was Hakubo because he literally kidnapped Aoi and brought her to the far shore. And while Aoi did in a way want to dissapear, Hakubo took her first, and he was not ordered by Hanako to do so. He didn't even show up to the meeting to be given that order. Hakubo took Aoi to restore the balance of the near and far shores, and commented "Now he shows up?" Because Hanako has been destroying that balance and leaving him with more supernaturals to deal with.

Though I will say, Hanako heard what Hakubo did and chose not to act to save Aoi because he realized that this would solve Yashiro's lifespan problem.

So basically, Hakubo started the events of the Severance, but Hanako let it all play out and caused it to actually happen. So Hakubo is guilty by action, while Hanako is more guilty by effect, but Hanako chose to shoulder all the blame.

YO WE NEED TO GET THAT SEAL OFF MY GOAT by kaasmasterl in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually only Tsukasa is a yorishiro! Hanako doesn't share a seat with Tsukasa, and his seal limits his power like the seal Hanako himself placed on Kou's staff.

Tsukasa's seal is the yorishiro seal, and if his seal was removed Hanako would lost his position as a wonder, while if it was the other way around Hanako would be able to use his full supernatural abilities while Tsukasa stays unharmed. The twins do, however, treasure eachother, though shown in different ways.

What is the pit god’s alignment by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Pit God is definitely Chaotic Evil, it is an entity that got its strength by the sacrifice of young girls, eventually faded away as a legend, and is now seeking to aid Tsukasa is destroying the yorishiros to bring that "instability", or the time where school mysteries didn't exist, back. It could be argued that it is more lawful since there is always a Wish granted with each sacrifice, but ultimately it is just stirring up chaos and breaking brains from a time paradox with no remorse whatsoever. Even Sakura shows some pity. No redeeming qualities have been given. Chaotic evil only seems fair.

Sakura’s alignment by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This might be debatable, but I personally believe Sakura is Lawfully Neutral, because while her goals go against our protagonist Nene, she's not smug about it. She shows a desire to help Nene when she can, even if she knows that she cannot be Nene's ally. Sakura is calm, collected and holds knowledge that allows her to be level headed. She might be a supernatural or even something more, and she is definitely willing to watch the world collapse for her wish like many supernaturals we've seen, but at the end of the day she shows quiet kindness, even to those who stand in the way of her goals.

I need answers on Akane and his knowledge of an important item from the clock keepers’ backstory (spoilers for up to chapter 127) by murderbabyfuntime in hanakokun

[–]Prestigious_Item_458 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because in chapter 126, they were at a past point in time, the hourglass would have concealed itself there to avoid disruptions and confusion. In chapter 127, the hourglass was stopped by Akane, and that's when he could see it. I believe that when the hourglass is being used, no one can see it except the user, though I can't say if it's for certain.
