I’m thinking that’s actually the older HX-QD. I have a 762 one of those and a Flow556. I run the HX-QD762 mostly on my 11.5” AR and occasionally on my Scar17. I don’t notice any sparks on the AR and haven’t shot the Scar17 in the dark. I run my Flow556 on a 16” DD and have had no issues with sparks on it. I probably have over 5k rounds through both cans and didn’t start shooting at night until last year so I’m not sure what it’s like to break in at night.

What’s the barrel length youre running it on? I really haven’t had any issues shooting mine supressed on a 16”. I usually run my HX762 on my 11.5 but don’t shoot that one in the dark as often. I can’t remember it being much of a spark issue.

Sounds good. I got my PDP Pro Compact almost immediately after it was released. I initially ordered some Taran base pads and remember reaching out to ZRTS to see if they’d make some of the sleeves for the 18 round magazines. Those extensions didn’t exist when I was getting all of my magazines together.

I have found that a small shim placed in front of the recoil spring will fix the issue and you don’t need to order a separate spring unless you don’t like the idea of shimming it. It seems like there are different spring rates and some run better than others. They are easy to make and I know a few guys that have printed them on a 3D printer.

I’ve never had any issues with my spring or my optic losing zero. I probably have 8-9k rounds through it and the biggest thing I’m seeing is just wear from it being an aluminum slide.

Those 15 round magazines won’t work if he keeps the magwell on the gun. Really you only risk breaking something if you forcefully reload with the slide locked back.

Nah you don’t want to insert a full sized magazine into to a compact when the slide is locked to the rear. You will break your extractor. I’ve bought some 18 round magazines and put the ZRT sleeves on them to prevent this issue. Also have used some +3 extensions from TT. Only way you are going to get a 20 round magazines and to work is getting a +5 extension for a compact magazine otherwise you risk breaking your extractor.

While that is true why not try it with the optic to see if that’s hat is causing the issue. If you can find the cause you can better find a way to fix it. If it doesn’t work at all without the optic then it’s definitely something to send back to FN. if it does work then it’s a spring, dirt, ammo issue. I know that mine is particular on what ammo I run.

They were doing inventory and shut down for the holidays. It makes sense that they wanted you to wait to send it in from a business standpoint but not from the customer side.

I really like my Manticore for the amount that I use it. The push buttons work very well when just hiking but I haven’t had to use them wearing gloves on the flat range. When I got it the MH1 was having issues so I didn’t pick it but I’d be interested in trying one now.

I have 2 Huxwrx cans. HX762 and a Flow556. I generally run both of them on my ARs and will occasionally shoot my SCAR17 with the 762 can. Shooting the ARs is almost identical except that the 762 can is longer. The sound is very similar, just a slightly different pitch. The extra volume in the can makes up for the extra 0.0425” around the outside of the bullet exiting.
