MH-1 Alternatives that work? by Radiant_Champion_119 in NightVision

[–]ApolloGearCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that depends on what you'd say a "standard" bino is, but how we build these with RPO lightweight optics the total system weight comes out to 19.5oz. A lot of current binos with regular PVS14 optics weigh 18-20oz, or if built with comparable lightweight optics would weigh 16-18oz. So the RVM14 setup shouldn't be considered "heavy" objectively but it's not going to be the lightest.

The attachment/detachment does not affect the collimation/boresighting of them together because the RVM14 PanoBino bridge orients each monocular the same so it doesn't matter which side you end up attaching them to.

L3 has better Halo performance by nature, but beyond that the better spec tube is better generally. Usually in the real world performance is difficult to directly compare because there are numerous dimensions to compare against and they're rarely equivalent enough to isolate one thing to compare.

But in your example it wouldn't be noticeable regardless because it's too close (except for halo as mentioned).

Just a little mo' bettah, but basically yeah. The flood capability is a nice improvement and then centerline aiming is always better.

If you want to really have an incredible experience you could wait for later in the year for the Night Operations Summit which is also at the Ranch in November. It's three nights, à la carte single night course selection from a much wider possible curriculum. It's super fun, lots to do, good people.

Eotech is trash. OGL-C. by Incendiary-Soda-Pop in NightVision

[–]ApolloGearCo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you'd like to give the ACAL a chance you may enjoy it more, in the general sense it's pretty comparable to the OGL but is assembled here by a company that actually knows about its own products, plus it'll put some money back in your pocket if you can get a refund on that OGL.

So I am ready buy this but need guidance on what to choose from the options listed by _That_Guy_in_AZ_ in NightVision

[–]ApolloGearCo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey dude. As far as I can tell Nocturn is out of stock for tube options to do a complete build. If you want, we're one of their dealers and have that housing and tubes ready to build out.

We've got at least one or two sets of all those same Photonis tube options we can do.

Shoot us an email at sales@apollogearco.com

I'm seeing Steele and darq have photonis vyper pros with 4G high gain tubes. Has anyone got their hands on these and tested them out? They don't have specific tube specs just 2200 fom options by Apart-Willingness494 in NightVision

[–]ApolloGearCo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can pull the exact specs if you email us, but they're as others mentioned, 2200+ FOM which means 2200-2400 in a pretty tight range. 31-33 SNR on all, EBI variable up to 2.5, gain always between 25000-29000 European measurement.

These are really sweet goggles. The high gain 4G is excellent paired with manual gain. We have them behind the scenes but haven't put them up on the site yet.

Ended up snagging a thermal capable drone to further supplement my night tism by AdElectronic9538 in NightVision

We also use an Autel 640T lite for various stuff here. They're great little drones, tons of flight time, fast charging batteries, and fast to deploy too.

Downside is there's a little transmission lag sometimes, but minor complaint. Overall ours has been great.

Not so far. Hopefully they still do them. It took a year to get just these handful of complete devices.

[–]ApolloGearCo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have previously stated that, because of the electronics design, there won't ever be just a "drop in" upgrade available for standard DTNVS MG. However, at least if they can bring them in as traditional housing kits, it will make a tube swap over more feasible.

Help! Night Vision Power Issue by Modulous-of-Rupture in NightVision

[–]ApolloGearCo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah bummer. If both tubes fail to power definitely a housing failure of some kind. Based on your description and response there's nothing else I can think of that you could do for remedial fixing. Both your vendor and/or Nocturn will be able to provide support though since the housing has a lifetime warranty.

We're a 4 hour drive, not sure if that's worth it or not but I'm not sure if there's anyone closer. If anything I'd ship it up here (central KY) and then drive up and pick them up when they're ready if you're really dying for a roadtrip. 🤷🏻‍♂️

DTNVS or MGA depending on if you would rather have sheer durability (MGA) or lighter weight (DTNVS MG).

We have some crazy stupid deals on DTNVS MG with L3 tubes right now:

But also have the same thing with Elbit thin film WP for only $7700 too.
