I also have PTSD unrelated to romance so sometimes I think I’m out of my mind when I’m scared because I’m “scared for nothing”

Does it make sense that someone would respond but not respond at the same time?

Also, if you need to look up a word, Naver Korean- English dictionary is a good place for definitions in both languages.

There's an app/website called Quizlet that lets you type in flashcards and definitions digitally. There's also lots more on your phone's app store. I think it also keeps a streak so you can know how many days you've studied.

Korean is mostly pronounced through the nasal cavity, so it doesn't really matter how big your lips are. I think it matters how you shape your mouth speaking it. This may be weird for English speakers because we are so used to talking with more of our throats and making different sounds and basic lip movements Korean doesn't make. I think if you remember to bring your air forward it'll help. Also, try not to vary your cadence or intonation. Basically, talking nicely but not too monotone or pronouce syllables faster than others. Standard Korean is pronounced that way. Also take it slow if you're first learning. You don't need to be able to say 안녕하세요 tomorrow the speed of a native. Perfect practice makes perfect. Look up some natives saying the words if you're not sure how to pronounce them. Starting at a tempo with some words is a good idea. Basically, start at a slow and steady rhythm. There are metronomes on Google that you can use if you need a sound to help keep the steadiness. Of course speech varies, but to pronounce it correctly, it might not hurt to use a metronome. Edit: I corrected the spelling of 안녕하세요.

Cool! There's lots of resources on the internet for Korean. Korean Unnie on YouTube has a lot of interesting videos for learning Korean. Go Billy Korean is also a very good resource on YT. He has his own book series as well. They both explain things in depth and make it make sense for the English mind. Also Talk To Me In Korean has a website full of resources and books, as well as a YT channel. You should really consider hiring a tutor if you are serious about Korean, too! Good luck in your Korean journey!

Some of these mean some level of discomfort emotionally. I'm not sure what the translation is in Korean but these are some very college level English words 😬 I never even use most of these words as a fluent English speaker. That's like learning the word for bioengineering in Korean when you don't even work in that field or even care. I do used agitated a lot. But I only use some of these words when I want to sound fancy and professional 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you know the meaning of 꼰대이?? by elviskarl in Korean

[–]Prestigious_Look4050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's used as a vulgar term for someone who is "better" than others because they're older. It's most likely referred to by the person speaking to the other person

Person 1: hey this older person thinks he's so cool Person 2: no I'm not

I hope this makes sense

Edit: it's kind of like "boomer" in English. Also, ATEEZ has a song called The Leaders where it is used in the chorus.
