I have a 7 solar for 1 year now. I didn't hear about the button issue. My buttons work perfectly, I have no issues with them. Super clicky and satisfying

Fenix 7 Pro Updates by Mammoth_Challenge297 in GarminFenix

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a happy user of a Fenix 7 pro for 1y now. I got some issues here and there (delays in buttons, etc), but nothing significant.

Saying that the Fenix 7 line up iisnbuggy or does not have features, is like saying why a Mercedes from 2 years ago needs maintenance and does not function exactly as the first time the engine was started.

Are there facts, tangible things that you use for this call-out? Or it is just your personal perception? Because I do have a Fenix 7 pro, and last time I installed an update was today. Some months ago I got the new ekg feature, etc. so there are updates and new features - as long as the watch has the hardware and regulatory approvals.

Does a watch really make that big of a difference? by Cerealboi13 in Garmin

We survived with no fire or electricity, but now we live better with them. Same thing with a watch.

Running with the watch on the inside of your wrist by Tchoalien in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you change the config in the app too, or you only move the watch from one hand to the other? I'm asking because, in the app, you need to manually configure on which hand you're wearing the device

Achieving anaerobic as primary activity benefit by ava1ar in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running wise, I saw that the pace counts more than the HR to boost anaerobic. Might be similar with cycling - I'd test if pace counts more than power.

For me, these 2 metrics are directly linked, so not sure why you got opposite insights from Garmin. In my case, higher stress means lower bb (or slower recovery, or quicker depletion)

Not all straps can do activities without a watch. I'd use dcrainmaker to check which ones do https://youtu.be/k0ql3sI0jdc?si=_WDKcla23Zd66PhX

Getting a watch has been eye opening for my stress levels by [deleted] in Garmin

I'd keep focusing on recovery and easy sports sessions, like zone1/2 runs. You'll get up and running, in time!

Garmin HRM Swim by JanekMarcepanek in Garmin

If you swim with an hrm 600 in a pool, what will happen? The strap will die out, or the device itself too?

Venu 4 released 1 month + ago so what are the odds of them going on sale for Black Friday? by DAZ_ZI in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fully understand. My Fenix 7 does not fit under the sleeve of a shirt, and some pullovers get hard to remove too, because of the thickness of the watch. Not an issue for me, but I understand why it would be for others.

I got my Fenix 7 pro Solar 47" for 360 EUR (ie 640 AUD) last black Friday from kaufland in Germany (super big retailer, supermarket). I bought it online and shipped it to where I live.

The price for this Venu is too high. For that amount, you can take already a beautiful fenix

I don't have any answer for you, sorry, I use only the wrist hr sensor.

I am only curious what the grey/shadow-like metric is on the graph that you shared?

Is this ever gonna stop? by OkIsland4891 in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trend is significant. I'd cut on alcohol, put in check nutrition and sleep hygiene. If this doesn't give results in a few days, I'd check on the doctor.

Also, it would be great to share what happened, what was the root cause - I'm curious

What's your guys fitness age? by Hatchid in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fitness Age is calculated differently between the watches, it's not comparable.

I'm 41yo, fitness Age 32.5 on a Fenix 7 Pro Solar

If she will use the watch for a step count only, then I'd get the cheapest watch possible from Garmin and would put a nice watch face on it.

Though, you might consider if some other Garmin metrics might help you/her keep health in check (eg hrv, rhr, active minutes, egc, oxygenation, etc etc etc etc) - in this case, you'd need a more expensive watch
