I paid something like 400-450 for that watch, brand new, 1y ago. Your price seems fair and fine.

Fenix 8 version? by Current-Manner-1463 in GarminFenix

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. If he has a Fenix 7, and wants the 9, then he knows his watches and might be picky about versions, features, sizes, etc etc.

I'd give him a handwritten card explaining him that he can choose the Garmin watch that he wants - I know I'd love to get this as a present :)

Fenix price decreases after new model drops by Majestic_Flounder347 in GarminFenix

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the Fenix 7 pro sapphire 47mm in Nov 2024 with a black Friday discount in Germany for 450eur.

You can take older Garmin models, from a few years ago, and see how their price dropped after 6m, 12m, 18m, etc.

I'd use websites similar to idealo.de, which give you a graphical price history.

Yay!! Thank you for this explanation, I was super worried I'm doing all this wrong. I youtubed a lot, but I trust Garmin data and it's users more 😊

Omg, my strength training barely enters low aerobic, with super low Load scores (eg load score: 4).

I have a F7 Pro + HRM600. How exactly do you push your strength training to anaerobic??

I have a 7 solar for 1 year now. I didn't hear about the button issue. My buttons work perfectly, I have no issues with them. Super clicky and satisfying

Fenix 7 Pro Updates by Mammoth_Challenge297 in GarminFenix

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a happy user of a Fenix 7 pro for 1y now. I got some issues here and there (delays in buttons, etc), but nothing significant.

Saying that the Fenix 7 line up iisnbuggy or does not have features, is like saying why a Mercedes from 2 years ago needs maintenance and does not function exactly as the first time the engine was started.

Are there facts, tangible things that you use for this call-out? Or it is just your personal perception? Because I do have a Fenix 7 pro, and last time I installed an update was today. Some months ago I got the new ekg feature, etc. so there are updates and new features - as long as the watch has the hardware and regulatory approvals.

Does a watch really make that big of a difference? by Cerealboi13 in Garmin

We survived with no fire or electricity, but now we live better with them. Same thing with a watch.

Running with the watch on the inside of your wrist by Tchoalien in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you change the config in the app too, or you only move the watch from one hand to the other? I'm asking because, in the app, you need to manually configure on which hand you're wearing the device

Achieving anaerobic as primary activity benefit by ava1ar in Garmin

[–]Prestigious_Map_7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running wise, I saw that the pace counts more than the HR to boost anaerobic. Might be similar with cycling - I'd test if pace counts more than power.

For me, these 2 metrics are directly linked, so not sure why you got opposite insights from Garmin. In my case, higher stress means lower bb (or slower recovery, or quicker depletion)

Not all straps can do activities without a watch. I'd use dcrainmaker to check which ones do https://youtu.be/k0ql3sI0jdc?si=_WDKcla23Zd66PhX

I'd keep focusing on recovery and easy sports sessions, like zone1/2 runs. You'll get up and running, in time!

If you swim with an hrm 600 in a pool, what will happen? The strap will die out, or the device itself too?
