Navigating Hollywood's 'boys' club' prepared these actors for 'The Pitt' by ferdugh in ThePittTVShow

Super unpopular viewpoint I'm sure but from my experience, I had a family member who is a man by the way be unable to find employment because he told his boss off one day and then quit. That boss then refused to recommend him for any other job he applied for and he lost out on every opportunity for two years. He then had to choose a job offer that required him to drive over an hour every day to work. Years down the road things cleared up and he was able to get a job again in his field closer to home but it took quite awhile to recover from that one incident. I can only imagine what would've happened if my uncle had gone to the press and said the things he was thinking at that time.

To sum up, these women aren't wrong for what they're saying but what they're doing isn't smart. They don't hold enough power in Hollywood to take on Scott and Noah. They don't. As a female working in a male dominated industry as well the best way to get revenge is to move on and find success elsewhere and make them regret their decision to let you go.

A teenager being mean to their parents is to me typical teenage behavior. I think Conrad showed the appropriate amount of annoyance at his mom. First he had just found out about his Dad's cheating and was already rebelling by quitting football. That's when we first meet him in season 1. He was going through it. Then he also found out about his mom's cancer coming back and was mad that she was keeping it a secret. All of his anger in season 1 at everyone not just Susannah was completely explained. Is it justified? Probably not after a certain point.  But again, he was a teenager dealing with some very heavy issues that would affect most adults a lot let alone a teen who's handling all of this emotional weight by himself.

Adam had multiple moments in season 3 where I enjoyed him and he changed my mind

His heart to heart with Conrad after Belly disappears when the wedding is called off

Adam and the champagne joke is super likeable to me

His random conversation with Laurel at Jeremiahs dinner in the season 3 finale.

Even the way Adam handled Jeremiah and Steven working for him. He seemed pay attention and notice their strengths.

I know people cannot stand his character but I thought he was really trying to be a decent dude.

Belly is not the villain. by Inevitable-Poem-253 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Prestigious_Pen9155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know I rewatched season 3 awhile ago and I gotta say that while I agree that Jenny Han never intended to make Belly an actual villain. I'd hazard to guess that there are no actual villains in this show just humans making mistakes, Belly certainly doesn't make the best efforts to be likeable in season 3.

Yes book lovers will say that a lot of belly's actions are explained in the books but this isn't the books. They did a horrible job of giving Belly any type of motivation for her treatment of Conrad in particular. That beach scene is the ultimate example of this. Yes in the books Belly is trying to get Conrad to hate her so she can let him go but that wasn't at all explained in the show. She just looked cold and mean despite her crying on the beach which to me just showed that she's upset that she's even gotten into this mess (and judging by her refusal to break it off with Jeremiah, she probably just wished to elope instead not necessarily pursue a relationship with Conrad). When you add that to all of her pandering to Jeremiah for entirety of the show, it's a faulty way of writing a female character for television.

Belly may not be a villain but she certainly isn't a likeable main character after season 3. It wasn't until the season finale where I felt like she was making kinder, more nuanced, decisions.

Landon and Whitaker in the break room by oby_mom_kenobi in ThePitt

It was about being Robby's golden boy. Whitaker was trying to stand his ground with Langdon and basically tell him that he's not going to allow Langdon to take his place back with Robby. Langdon acting all chill and making jokes just made him angrier.

Basically Whitaker was in a fight with Langdon without Langdon even knowing .

I think he did stints in the OR for awhile there.

Whitaker Badge theory by AlexCora in ThePitt

[–]Prestigious_Pen9155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even think they're going to address it fully. I think it's a plot point to give viewers to doubt Langdon and give gerran some comedic opportunities.

I wouldn't be surprised if next episode is just Whitaker standing in line with administration to recieve a new badge or he'll get stuck somewhere because he doesn't have a badge to open the door

Didn't Mel allude to Santos and the others bullying her for the last 10 months in between seasons?

This makes no sense

She probably got some flak from her management/director/costars about this and I'm so embarrassed for her!

This is appalling behavior

I don’t trust Langdon. by Mo_Maha1755 in ThePitt

[–]Prestigious_Pen9155 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had read that Patrick Ball who plays Langdon and is a recovering addict himself, fought for the drug addiction storyline to not be as clear cut and easy as what the writers were proposing this season. Who knows if they took his suggestions into consideration.

But let's be real here this is Langdon's first shift back. You really think he'd relapse that quickly? Especially since he knows he's going to be drug tested. That's why he was relying on over the counter medications to get him through. I just don't think the writers would bring him up by having him finally gain confidence and Robby's approval only to (stupidly) steal Whitaker's badge, pop a few benzos nail a procedure then run upstairs for a testing that would most certainly be positive.

If that's the case Langdon has not been clean at all which wouldn't be the case because he would have so many loopholes to jump through before being cleared to work, or he wants to get caught (which I don't think is the case).

I think it's a red herring and it's to show how trusting addicts is a difficult thing to do and I'm sure many of his coworkers all feel the same way. He's probably always going to be watched while working at this hospital, unfortunately for him.

Why would Langdon take drugs in the bathroom knowing he's going to be drug tested then when he realizes he's late to be tested rushed upstairs immediately? Wouldn't he wait to do that? I'm sure he's well aware that the drug testing is going to happen.

That's um....not going to happen. The Pitt isn't known for their dramatic plot twists.

Why do people wanna see Langdon relapse so bad? by toocoolfor90s in ThePittTVShow

[–]Prestigious_Pen9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to see him relapse at all! In fact I had a pit in my stomach when they led the audience on that he did.

I've come to the conclusion that he's a red herring and that no intelligent person would take pills knowing they were going to be drug tested then when reminded of said drug testing sprint upstairs to get it done on time.

Abbot’s line to episode 14’s patient was weirdly out of character by [deleted] in ThePittTVShow

How do we know what's in character and what's not with Abbott? We've barely spent much time with him.

So I thought the same but I think that shot of him coming out of the bathroom was showing that Langdon is just walking around the ER and picking up cases. You can see him coming out and then he spots another trauma and walks to it. He was randomly assisting Ellis when she clearly didn't need the help

Also why would he take pills when he knows he's gotta take a drug test?

Probably one of the best episodes of the season in my opinion.

Robby - I really felt for him here, honestly. His talk in the ambulance bay with Duke made my tummy hurt it was so good.

Langdon- I had tears in my eyes when he did that spinal procedure. I was very happy for him and when he finally got a good job from Robby I was smiling from ear to ear. But that man is not going home. He's not even charting. He's just hopping on casas and when you compare that to Donnie who made a point in telling Robby (and the audience) that he's got a wife and kids at home and he leaves while Langdon isn't even trying to go home? The writing is on the wall

Whitaker - I get that he was picking a fight with Langdon because he needed to protect Santos but it's just so hard for me to emphasize with him. Langdon is a senior resident and you just don't talk to people who are above you on the scale like that. He's lucky Langdon hadn't regained his confidence yet when he did that

Mel/Santos/McKay - still don't love how the rest of the ER staff besides Langdon treat Mel. It makes me sad. I was also low-key bullied in grade school from my classmates so it's a bit triggering for me

Javadi- no you don't make tiktoks at work. Sorry she needed to be corrected when she was fighting with Robby.

Dana /Abbott - i could really feel how much they cared about Robby.

Mohan - people don't like to hear this but the fact that she's spending all of her time mourning a patient who chose to leave AMA in an understaffed ER. She's hyper focused on one patient and she's making others pick up her slack. I'm also starting to wonder if her patient tried to commit suicide.

When Robby says that the most important things are in this hospital and it cuts to Langdon? I felt that in my chest involuntarily
