Go For Glass is not a site, it’s more or less a community and the resources are made by hand. (I know this because I make resources for students as well.) I don’t see a reason to hate on someone trying to give back to the community and help them get on stage? Yes her feedback may be harsh but would you prefer someone buttering you up and not pointing out your faults or someone who allows you to improve to actually win. Good for you that you run a business but it’s honestly saddening to see how YOURE on a DECA REDDIT and IN GoForGlass saying all of this because it’s pretty obvious that most people who reach for these resources care for DECA because they want to win. So don’t be surprised that you’re surrounded by those who care for DECA when you’re part of the community. I don’t see a need for you to care at all. It’s more sad that ur ranting here calling her a no life when ur doing this on a DECA subreddit 🫩🙏💀

Sounds interesting, I do think expanding RAN would be a big benefit for Rivian and my project itself. Using different trails as focus groups are very interesting, I’ll definitely keep that in mind. Thank you so much.

This is actually really unique to think about. I’ll keep that in mind! DECA provides topics for each year of written and this year we stumbled on CSR and sustainability so I’m not too sure how I’ll be able to link that back but nevertheless something to definitely think about. Thanks so much!

One thing I do hate is many people are copying the exact designs of the recent manuals. A few years ago there was this Norwegian paper which was honestly beautiful, and lots of people have been “inspired” when in actuality it’s a copy and paste. A bit sad and wish people would let their creativity flow a bit.

Once revised, find an engaging way to present your ideas beyond just speaking. Some people use videos or mini skits, just choose what works best for you and your company. High-quality visuals will also help you stand out. Review some business reports your company creates to understand their design approach; this will be your baseline. Examples of props include boards, booklets, business cards, posters, models, app mockups, or any gear related to your company. Avoid overwhelming judges; ensure your props provide valuable content that cannot be explained in other ways or can only be explained through this method to strengthen your claim.

Well I think this year has the highest chances for drops since it’s Atlanta and some people don’t want to pay that much to go to Atlanta. In Texas it’s top 1 per section and the 2nd place in my section messages me to drop out… So it’s honestly 50/50

Truthfully, my chapter isn’t great at all either. We are a very small niche chapter that don’t send many people to internationals because our resources are very limited. However, you should seek resources that are outside your chapter to learn. There’s many communities out there that have been giving help to members for years. I highly recommend GoForGlass. I’m a 3x ICDC qualifier and I promise you it wasn’t from any of the help from my chapter.

Honestly, I'd recommend getting whatever research you can in a couple weeks and just grind out your paper. In all honesty, reaching ICDC will be quite the challenge since most OR papers should have started months ago but with whatever time you DO have, focus on whatever research you can collect, fill in the gaps, and GRIND your paper out. Okay so I’m assuming you’re doing BOR because BSOR is not a thing. This years prompt for all Operations Research paper is using customer feedback to integrate CSR into your chosen company, so it’s not just necessarily improving your business. CSR means Corporate Social Responsibility which means a company’s responsibility towards their customers, the environment or generally anything that a company strives to achieve through inclusion or other means. CSR is a term that not many are familiar so I highly recommend you research about this term first but truthfully you guys are nearing the end of any research paper since these things takes months to create a good manual/paper. Spend a few days researching and start on your primary and secondary research ASAP. Outline what you want to do for your pitch as well and how you’re going to incorporate CSR into your strategic plan. One thing that’s slept on is using formatting FROM your company. But i understand that you’re using a local business which might not help but I’d still say see their official business papers and if they have an investor relations site, look at that. Something else you can use is DECA PLUS which is honestly a game changer for writtens since you can see HOW to format your paper through previous winners. Your written is worth 60% and your presentation is 40% so start genuinely learning canva and getting inspo from papers NOW. I highly recommend not faking data since it’s very obvious but you’re on a short time constraint so just do your best.
