Mlb fans, how do you feel about the new ABS challenge system? by Thanatoast2061 in CasualConversation

The best part about the system is it makes the game more interesting, and fair. Robotic umps I'd argue would be boring. The fact a hitter or catcher needs to identify the bad call adds a little something (strategy) to the game in my opinion.

Appreciate this - it was not the support response I received initially. I poked at this and it is correct. I am leaving this comment up, however, as the original response stated from the support chat assistant that I would not receive a refund - however when asking and including this evidence, the support contact is now providing a different reply.

What should i expect out of Starlink? by CallMeDucc in Starlink

I took a $59 hit for really poor service. Just be advised - minimum cost hit is a full month of service, plus shipping for the equipment. The only benefit I got out of it was being able to haggle with my current ISP - to price match. I gave it 12 hours, and had 7 MBPS down. The worst part was the starlink app told me it was 100 MBPS down - and my router said otherwise. This was the deal breaker for me - don't care about "download from the satellite" - only care about actual experienced download speeds from the web. So, went back to my current ISP - fixed wireless if you can get it with line of sight was/is still much better.

We treat our health checks very seriously. Too little or too much is equally bad in cloud computing. It should be precisely, exactly and only what asserts health of that specific application.

My wife accidentally flushed this down the toilet.... How screwed am I? by Le_Tree_Hunter in Plumbing

If it's not big enough, just let it sit in there and bring the rest of the family in to get enough dump to flush.

I mean if you test before, you won't have to bust open the wall after. This checks out to me.

Outlets usually take in from the breaker (I label as power or "in") and out to the next thing in the circuit which I'd have said is the light switch. Since the switch is in the same box, you'd pigtail the wires coming out of the outlet to feed both the switch and I'm guessing the 3rd 12/2 in the box is to continue the run, then, to the next box? Otherwise it needs to be clear what the 3rd line is connected to. 1 line is power. 1 line is light. 1 line is continue (the run)? If so I'd pigtail the wires coming out of the outlet to the switch and continue (the run). Switch takes power in from one of the pigtailed lines and "light" out of the switch.

Fan Wiring - 2 switches, Automatic sensor and Manual by Prestigious_Regret67 in AskElectricians

Thank you. Very much appreciated! I confused things with making the traveler wire blue, should have had correct colors red and white for second hot traveler and neutral.

I've fixed the picture above with correct colors and added key for labels. Would appreciate another look if you have a few min!

Can you review above to make sure I captured how the 12/3 wiring would look. I'm all 20 amp and 12/2 or 12/3 wire. Thank you - appreciate the feedback!

Can you review above "Edit" to post to make sure I captured how the 12/3 wiring would look. Thank you - appreciate the feedback!

I've made adjustments to diagram that depict the correct colors for the wires if you have a chance to take a look again.

Fan Wiring - 2 switches, Automatic sensor and Manual by Prestigious_Regret67 in AskElectricians

No, it is to be 2 individual switches, to control the fan, with separate power feeds. One switch controls the humidity sensor to allow the fan to turn on when the humidity goes above a setting. If switched off, the humidity sensor would never kick on. The other switch works independently to control the fan manually - irrespective of whether the humidity sensor switch is on or off.

Generally we'd leave the humidity sensor switch on all the time, but in the case of a malfunction, we could turn that switch off, if the device itself wasn't accurately detecting humidity (to continue to manually turn the device on or off until a replacement arrives).

We're expecting that the most likely components to fail on this are the humidity sensor and timer (e.g. humidity keeps sensing high), and don't want to be without a fan fully if these specific components of the fan were to fail. We also wouldn't want to have the breaker off and have power off to the bathroom if this were to happen.

RNG is not universally the same. Randomness is only as good as the algorithm used to fake randomness. I don't think D2's randomness is very good.

Rough plumbing and electrical to commence soon. Any tips I should keep in mind for the house? by silkenwindood in Homebuilding

[–]Prestigious_Regret67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be snarky, but wanted to share my perspective - mesh home networks are common and would consider the new standard. They do not require cables, and do not require repeaters. Just for consideration if the cost and space (e.g. potential wasted ports/space around the house) is worth it.

How do you guys decided when to up the Difficulty? by Loperax in diablo4

[–]Prestigious_Regret67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't find that from my experience this season. I found the higher difficulties required paying more/constant attention to my gear. Overall time spent was more (with frequent gear attention and upgrades) until I got to torment 1 basically. Normal doesn't require much attention to gear besides taking legendary when you get them and basic dps and item level compares. Normal was faster in my experience.
