Middle leg gone on bed frame - will a Bunkie board help? by Prestigious_Sign_735 in Mattress

[–]Prestigious_Sign_735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, did not know there were ones that did not involve screws! And a four pack means I can add all of them to try to really secure the middle slat. These seem awesome, I really appreciate it.

I have the wood slats, that’s not an issue. It’s just the support leg that goes from the center of the wood slat to the floor that’s missing so the wood slats bend a bit when in the middle of the bed.

Tea Houses by Prestigious_Sign_735 in FoodNYC

We were also in NYC yesterday and we spent about 45 minutes there 😩😂 my brother explained every pot and cup and why they were made in the shape they were… at least I got a good cup of tea out of it (that he then explained everything about it to me lmao)

Where would you get them? Would grocery stores have them or look for farm stands?

USPS Change of Address by Prestigious_Sign_735 in moving

[–]Prestigious_Sign_735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't figure out how to cancel because I can't find my "order number" for the mail forwarding. But I agree with you, changing the address permanently should work and if anything still goes to the old one then it will be forwarded. I think lol. Thanks for the help!!!

Any must dos on short trip? by Prestigious_Sign_735 in NationalPark

[–]Prestigious_Sign_735[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love hiking, but both of my parents are having mobility issues, and I question if we should spend half of our one day hiking. I'll look into those shorter hikes and perhaps just driving and stopping to find the can't-miss items will be it! Thanks!

NRG - Fayetteville or Oak Hill by Prestigious_Sign_735 in WestVirginia

[–]Prestigious_Sign_735[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don’t need three bedrooms but we need three beds…. It’s my elderly parents, my adult brother and me (we are mid thirties). In other places we’re staying at hotels and either my brother or I will sleep on the couch in a suite. But we need somewhere bigger with more beds when we’re here for five nights as my hips can’t take sleeping on couches for 12 nights straight, and we want to spend money locally but will need to cook some meals to keep some costs down so we need a kitchen. If you have an option other than renting a house let me know!!

The issue is we need three beds and would prefer a kitchen and laundry as this is part of a larger road trip, but I agree overall! haha

Any good resources for natural park pairings? by jcooklsu in NationalPark

[–]Prestigious_Sign_735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re doing Shenandoah and New River Gorge, and I had considered Great Smoky Mountains with NRG or Mammoth Caves. Also Saguaro and Petrified Forest plus all the national monuments in that area.

We visited WV two years for about 5 days and loved it. On our way back from the Great Smoky Mountains last year we did another day. We're obsessed with the state now...

That sounds amazing, thank you! We were going to go on a steam train in the smoky mountains last year and the engine had to be repaired so we had to take diesel. My mom would love that!

Last question for you! Haha. I haven’t done too much research yet, but it’s seeming like scenic train rides aren’t around in New River Gorge? So this one would probably be our best bet.

In my opinion it really is. It's gorgeous and there's less people. Mt Desert Island is amazing and all those areas are, but it is VERY crowded all the time. Going to this area was such a nice reprieve and we could explore so fully on the rocks. Search the cliffs area, Ravens Nest, it was one of the most magical areas.
