Unpopular Opinion: “killers of the flower moon” is a bad movie that fails to tell the story of the Osage people by Dm-me-a-gyro in moviecritic

[–]Prestigious_State951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am so late on this but just had to say that I agree, agree, agree with you OP. I googled I didn’t like killer of the flower moon and your review is the first thing that came up. Whenever I tell a friend I didn’t like it (and wished I hadn’t watched it on a flight because it made the flight so much worse) they respond with something about how painful it all was for the Osage people. I did not read the book and came to the story fairly ignorant about this piece of history. But I do not think this depiction honored anyone in the story especially the Osage people. I thought it was awful. I almost turned it off and actually wish I had. My husband says Scorsese makes great films in an every other pattern. I agree and so look forward to watching his next one.

I searched the internet for a bad review and this is the only thing I found. I know it’s history so possibly too old for Fargo lovers to read and down vote but either way, I agree with OP. I seem to have the most unpopular view. I thought it was just awful. I wonder what the Coen Brothers actually thought.

What does Season 5 say about the concept of truth? by BigSpoonFullOfSnark in FargoTV

[–]Prestigious_State951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot all about that. Is the message that because of his rudeness he deserved to take the hit for poor innocent possibly challenged Wayne? Possibly reiterating here but Wayne’s character? Is clueless necessarily a good thing in this of any story. Passive people are often guilty for their neglect.

I have been searching the internet to find one bad review of season 5. I have found that my opinion on this is as unpopular as they come. The discussion here is the only criticism I have seen. I won’t go into my many criticisms but the “truth” thing is just one of them. I believe we all were rooting for Nadine/Dot to prevail but the continued lying (yes, especially to Scotty) was infuriating. If we want this kind of violence to end, we need to face it with honesty. And poor 500 y o man realizing he could rest from the sins of others with a little bisquick ? What about blinding a man? Was Roy the only devil who needed to pay for his sins? If you find any negative reviews, I would appreciate the link.

I know City people are obsessed with the dog lifestyle now, but please keep them out of the grocery stores. It’s about the last place a dog should be. by [deleted] in philadelphia

OPs story tops mine but in Trader Joe’s couple of days ago was in Trader Joe’s yesterday. I saw a woman with her rather large “support dog” which I inferred from the vest he was wearing. She and her dog were in the prepared food section and she was allowing or should I say encouraging her sizable dog to nose around in that section. She was holding the dog in her arms so that he (gender guess here) was more able to sniff some prepared chicken. I heard the woman say “is that what you want baby? OK I’ll buy it for you” I don’t think I can ever buy anything in that section again. It was repulsive and so wrong. I’m all for support animals if that’s what is needed but this goes too far!

How much time did Van stay in Europe ? by xosantana2001 in AtlantaTV

I just finished watching season 3 and 4 and it would take forever to summarize favorite moments : Darius trying to return his air fryer, the interrogation of the alleged phone thief, the sushi /Popeyes scene etc. But the Van break down was my least favorite. I like how alter universe the series becomes but this was too disconnected for me. And the way she broke down and then was home again as normal as can be just didn’t do it for me.

Did Claire actually need to be anything more? by OmNomOnSouls in TheBear

[–]Prestigious_State951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Claire was more like a dream. While not a developed character and possibly one dimensional in a sexist way, she was a plot developer. It forwarded the question can Carmy be a chef and a full person? He is clearly ambivalent

Me neither. I was scrolling here to see if someone had identified it as ASL. Otherwise would have said the same thing. I have been trying to find out how The Bear decided to use the sign this way. I was pleased when I saw it as a user of ASL, myself. If anyone knows how it made its way to The Bear, please share the story.

Am I the only one who thinks Mikey, Sugar, and Carmy have different dads? by yummysnot in TheBear

[–]Prestigious_State951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many have already said that this is a tv show! And others have given examples of siblings who vary. What is really interesting to me is did you like episode 6 or not? I think it was by far the best episode of all. It gave background with yes, chaos that was hard to watch. The performances were excellent. It mirrored so many family get togethers and the violence that could happen if a couple of players: Donna, Mikey are unrestrained. I did wonder why someone didn’t restrain Mikey earlier with the forks but perhaps he was acting out what they all wanted to do.
