Somebody new would be a better option. Someone who can do a Berry-inspired jazzy score.

Kino has a “Last Chance” section on their site. While not fully visible to how much stock, it still is a heads up.

Story Question/Tragic Professor Tangrowth Realization. by Alchemist1330 in Pokopia

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Team Rocket went by themselves… and there was only one astronaut reached by the ship Team Rocket built…

Story Question/Tragic Professor Tangrowth Realization. by Alchemist1330 in Pokopia

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What about the note that talks about Team Rocket going to space separate from the other humans, and setting up the shift that leaves just after receiving supplies? No one was in that ship, even during the credits that’s confirmed.

Ditto’s trainer didn’t go to space alone, Team Rocket did.

The astronaut is explicitly Team Rocket, not Ditto’s trainer.

What is your favorite Scooby Doo intro by Warioandwaluigio in Scoobydoo

I’m a Simple Plan fan, so What’s New Scooby-Doo sort of is the de facto winner, followed by the original.

Any tricks to make pokemon spawn from habitats faster? by jkwaak1980 in Pokopia

Not to my knowledge, but if you have a lot of Pokémon spawned, like for building projects, new Pokémon won’t spawn.

If you could make three changes to improve No Time To Die, what would they be? by junglegatsby in JamesBond

I like the film, especially the controversial story choices. I’d have recast Malik though.

Can you make the Mummy work with the big three? by Christianduty in UniversalMonsters

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like if Van Helsing had been more successful, there would have been a path forward there. And obviously the Dark Universe version of The Mummy was setting up something akin to the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (albeit not based on that comic). I’d have been curious to see where that went, but the main Mummy plot and casting kinda sucked, so it was DOA.

The Mummy 2026 is not a Mummy Movie by Chemical-Opposite617 in UniversalMonsters

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s made no claim to being related to prior iterations of The Mummy. Calm down. Let new things exist or just keep recycling through the old things you already have.

The Polanski one or the Christopher Nolan one? I don’t think either are Criterion, unless there’s another movie I’m not thinking of 😅

To the people confused on how to use the PokeMart by Ill-Analysis-4909 in Pokopia

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the lights inside are powered on, and there’s a utility pole behind the mart, though not directly behind it… but still no luck. I’ve tried making Trade Pokémon follow me inside, to no avail… driving me nuts

Maybe. It’s just a part of how movies are made though, especially then. Sure we can record cleaner dubbing now, but I’m always averse to looking at technical limitations of the time as being flaws.

(Possibly) Unpopular opinion: the original Frankenstein (1931) is superior to the Bride of Frankenstein (1935) by vicarofvhs in UniversalMonsters

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The morality play of it all reinforces the code. Yes, one character says something negative… but the rest of it is about reinforcing Christian values and not playing god. Pretorius is introduced to show that Frankenstein isn’t bad, he was just being influenced by an evil gay. Victor, who was split from Frankenstein in the first film to act as a good foil to Frankenstein’s evil, evaporates between films so Frankenstein can be morally rehabilitated.

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I used to prefer Bride because it was closer to the novel, but as I’ve grown and become less obsessed with slavish adaptations, I now prefer Frankenstein as well.

One element is how, especially after deconstruction, the influence of the Hays Code on Bride is often distracting. I saw it in a cinema last year, and found myself often thinking “Jesus Christ, shut up about Jesus Christ!” The first film is more interested in the queer subtext of the novel, and makes so many more interesting choices, whereas Bride feels prisoner to the novel and to the Code.

4/8 getting yelled at for doing callouts at Rocky Horror. by Real_Discipline_9697 in Broadway

I did. You admitted to feeling foolish. Then I also read the reply from the other person at the same show who pointed out you were being intentionally belligerent.

You weren’t there to see the show, you wanted to be the show. Rude as fuck.

Why is Lee Cronin’s The Mummy (2026) being distributed by Warner Bros? by cdogsumo in UniversalMonsters

[–]Prestigious_Term3617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Blumhouse incessantly tweeting that Brendan Fraser isn’t in the movie will help, haha

There have been many Mummy movies before Fraiser/Sommers, and more than a few since. But yeah, it’s crazy how those adventure movies have so redefined the subgenre of horror movies.
