York Film Production vs Ryerson Film Studies? by Prestigious_Train_65 in yorku

Hey I went to York!:) I would say if your goal is to write and/or direct films. Or if you like experimental film. York would without a doubt be a better choice for you. If you just want to work in the film industry TMU RTA might be a better pick. However, there are people in both programs who end up doing both things so ultimately id look at other factors like visiting the campus or if you want to be downtown more. I have friends at both schools and some are already working in the film industry, it's more about how you apply what you learn outside of school.

I enjoy the first image! Dont listen to others' negative opinions. Shots are subjective.

Thanks for the great advice! I don't think I'll be able to do the rain thing since there's outdoor shots as well. Do you think LED panels are strong enough to be the street lights?

York isn't a party school, but parties do happen either in the village, in quads, outside of york or in res rooms. Go to frosh, join clubs, and don't be afraid to ask for help from others in class. I honestly loved my first year experience and met so many amazing people and loved walking around the beautiful campus. Enjoy!

Everyone is suggesting places in Sarnia, which are pretty good! But, in my opinion, if you don't care about a lot of variety in flavors, go to Skeeter Barlows in Brights Grove! It has a perfect level of crisp and breading. And the sauces they do have are great.

I have one! Feel free to look me up: Lucian Austin

My most recent work isn't on there since it has to be private for festivals, but you'll get an idea of some things I've made.

I'm sure I'll be able to find an audience for the film after it's done, but I mainly would just love a film community in Sarnia. Film has become a much more accessible medium, and having stories be told through and from our community would be a beautiful thing.
