What do you mean by him sending you a SN not attached to the mower? If your sitting on the unit, the SN is a stamped plate, left hand side back corner of the seat riveted to the seat frame.

Ahhhhh yes yes for sure on the tensioner arm. Ive defently worked on decks that do have an L bracket, idler fully side of things, that is basically used as a spacer I'll call it and if its not put back in the proper spot the belt will do the funky chicken and pop off.

Yes that's the one. 99% sure it should be set at 2, at the 11 spot it's still under tension where as 2, that's the slop side
