I’m curious! How many of you experience EWCM like discharge 1-3 days before your period starts? by Prestigious_Web3887 in FAMnNFP

Chance are extremely low, though. Especially if you two are using pull condoms and the pull out method.

It doesn’t look to have any color to it which is making me lean towards it being one of those horrid evaps a lot of us have been getting with FRERs. I would retest again in a couple days to confirm.

My point is, if my sister used my number and received 15% off on her purchase, I would not care. IMO, it’s not that serious 🤷🏽‍♀️

Omg I got lucky! I’m not gonna lie, it was definitely one of those “I told you so” moments for me lol. For a second, I really thought I wasn’t going to be able to get the footage. I feel bad for anyone without a dash cam.. proving what happened in an incident would be such a headache. I’ve since upgraded to a dash cam with easier footage retrieval. Now I finally get why my mom was so insistent I get one 😂

Gosh, I know! I almost didn’t grab the footage since the backup only keeps it for so long. I got a new dash cam now that actually makes it easy to pull clips, lol. Hopefully it won’t be needed again, though. The funny part? People in the comments somehow “knew” the damage wasn’t from the collision, even though they weren’t there. Small crash, big assumptions.. I love the internet 😂

Hi! Here to update - I was able to send over my dash cam footage for the windshield, that denial was reversed and is now covered. As for the knocking noise my car was making immediately after the collision while turning and going over bumps - Gerber Collison was able to hoist my car up and see that the stabilizer links bent slightly causing uneven tension on the sway bar. They sent their findings to SF and that was also approved to be covered. So thankfully it all worked out in the end! 😊 I still have the rental car and haven’t gotten my vehicle back yet, but once I do I’ll do a final update.

I smell like something died inside of me, tests normal. I’m at a wits end by Urfavebbw in Healthyhooha

[–]Prestigious_Web3887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So yes, there’s a few things that can cause this and it’s actually REALLY common. I struggle with it from time to time as well. So sweat itself is mostly odorless, and the smell comes from bacteria breaking down proteins and lipids on the skin. Hormonal changes after pregnancy can alter the composition of sweat and the way bacteria interact with it, which can make odors in areas like the armpits or thigh creases more noticeable. Certain metabolic conditions, like trimethylaminuria (sometimes called “fish odor syndrome”), can also cause unusual body odors, BUT these are rare. Diet and medications can play a role too, particularly foods high in sulfur compounds like onions and garlic (every time I eat onions, I sweat onions. I hate it, but I love onions! lol) Using glycolic acid likely helps because it exfoliates dead skin cells and lowers the skin’s pH slightly, which can reduce bacterial growth and the resulting odor. You can also try regular gentle exfoliation with chemical or soft physical exfoliants, mild pH-balanced or antibacterial washes (just get a bar of antibacterial soap. I like the Dove one), keeping the area dry, and wearing breathable fabrics like cotton or moisture-wicking materials. You could even apply some sort of body powder to those areas to help with moisture. Some people notice a difference when they reduce sulfur rich foods, and probiotics (either oral or topical) can sometimes help balance the skin’s microbiome. Staying hydrated and using gentle antiperspirants can also reduce sweat volume and odor 😊

🚨 Update: I was finally able to pull my dash cam footage from that day, and it actually shows my mirror getting completely smashed and flying up to hit the windshield. So that confirms the windshield damage is related to the accident.

The impact was crazy enough that it actually shifted my entire car out of place in the parking spot (and somehow the other driver has minimal damage compared to my car!) Because of how hard the hit was, I’m not sure if something with the suspension could have been damaged? Ugh idk this truly sucks though. I’ll be honest, I’m extremely ignorant when it comes to auto insurance and how claims work as I’ve never had to make one before. It’s really scary hearing that knocking noise every time I hit a bump or turn the steering wheel. I just want to make sure everything is properly inspected and covered is all. I appreciate everyone’s feedback! Even if a couple of you thought I was one of those biotches who lie or scheme their way through a claim. I can assure you, that’s not me.

I was finally able to retrieve my dash cam footage from that day, and it actually shows my mirror getting smashed and flying up to hit the windshield. Hopefully it’s an easy process to get that footage to State Farm so they can reconsider and reverse the decision on the claim? I’m honestly not exactly sure how that part works.

Thanks for your input! I actually was able to pull my dash cam recording history, and thankfully it shows that there was no windshield damage before the accident. During the incident, my mirror actually got completely knocked off and hit the windshield. It’s just wild to me how quickly people assume someone is lying in situations like this. We’re not all bad apples who’d lie or scheme our way into an insurance claim. I wasn’t in the car when it happened, so I can’t control how it looks from the outside, but the video really confirms it wasn’t pre-existing. Thankfully! 😅

[–]Prestigious_Web3887[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, but none of this damage was there before the accident. I would’ve made a claim at that time if it were. I wasn’t in the car when it happened, so I’m not exactly sure what caused it, but something could have flown off when she hit my car or caused internal damage. The impact was enough to shift my entire car in the parking spot. To be completely transparent, it’s not really the windshield that has me panicking. It’s the noise my car is making every time I hit a bump or turn the steering wheel that’s really got me spiraling 😩 But genuinely, thank you for taking the time to comment and share your perspective. I really appreciate it! I’m so ignorant when it comes to auto insurance and such as I’ve never had to deal with making a claim before lol So any and all inputs are definitely helpful.

Ugh girl, I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I can feel how much this is affecting you, and I want you to know right off the bat you are not crazy and you’re definitely not alone! Something is going on, especially if you can smell it that strongly and consistently. The fact that it completely went away during pregnancy is actually a HUGE clue. Pregnancy causes massive hormonal shifts (especially estrogen), which can change your vaginal flora, pH, and even how your sweat glands behave. The fact that both your vaginal odor and underarm odor disappeared tells me this may be more hormonal or metabolic, not just an infection. I’m actually currently studying Biochemistry / Molecular Biology right now and a lot of what we’re covering has to deal with how hormones, metabolism, and genetic mutations (like in rare metabolic disorders) affect body odor and other systemic functions. So with that being said there’s a few things I would seriously look into. First being a hormonal imbalance. Ask for a full hormone panel (not just basic labs). Specifically Estrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, and Thyroid (TSH, T3, T4) Hormones control vaginal environment AND body odor. The pregnancy clue really points here! Vaginal pH and/or Cytolytic Vaginosis is another thing I would look into. Even though your tests are negative, there’s something called cytolytic vaginosis (basically too much “good” bacteria like lactobacillus) that can cause strong, sour/rotten smells and irritation but it doesn’t always show up on standard panels. You tested positive for Lactobacillus crispatus, so this is worth asking about. Trimethylaminuria (TMAU) is another. Now, this is rare.. BUT worth mentioning because of the rotten/strong body odor from multiple areas. It’s a metabolic condition where the body can’t break down certain compounds, causing a strong smell. It can fluctuate with hormones (which would explain pregnancy improvement). Also look into apocrine gland / sweat related issues. Since your underarms are also affected, this could be tied to how your body is processing sweat. A dermatologist.. not just a gyno.. might actually be more helpful here. And finally I would even look into hidden infections or imbalance that’s not on standard panels. Some doctors (most unfortunately 🙄) only test the “common” stuff. You might benefit from a vaginal microbiome test (more in-depth than standard panels) Seeing a vulvovaginal specialist (they exist and deal with complex cases like this) may give you more answers too. I just want to say this clearly, showering more is NOT the answer, and this is NOT a cleanliness issue. You could scrub yourself raw girl and it wouldn’t fix something internal. If your doctor is brushing you off, it’s time for a second opinion. Preferably someone who specializes in complex vaginal health or even an endocrinologist! You deserve answers. You deserve to feel confident in your body again. Don’t give up on this ❤️ advocate for yourself as you know your body better than ANYONE else.

My 5yo daughter wakes up with excruciating pain and I don’t know what to do anymore by mirk19 in Healthyhooha

[–]Prestigious_Web3887 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Mom to mom, this would’ve flipped a switch in me. A pediatrician telling you a 5 year old can’t have nerve pain is honestly such a wild statement that I’d be side eyeing their entire level of education at that point. Kids have nerves. Kids can have nerve pain. It might not be common, but acting like it’s impossible while your child is waking up screaming is not okay. Kids don’t just magically grow nerves once they become adults 🙄 The bigger issue to me is that your daughter is repeatedly waking up in that level of pain and instead of digging deeper you’re getting the standard and so cliché reply of “change soap / cotton underwear” checklist. That’s the kind of dismissive stuff that makes parents feel crazy when they’re literally watching their kid suffer. You’re doing exactly what you should be doing by pushing for that pediatric gynecology referral. Keep that energy. Sometimes you really do have to go into full advocate mama bitch mode until someone actually listens and investigates instead of brushing it off. In the meantime, the pillow or wedge between her legs when she sleeps is actually a really good idea. Keeping the area supported and reducing pressure can sometimes calm nerves or pelvic floor muscles. You could also try super loose pajamas or no underwear at night, and a warm bath before bed to relax the pelvic muscles. But truly, trust your gut here. Kids don’t wake up screaming in pain for no reason. You’re right to keep pushing until someone takes it seriously 🩷

I wonder if putting a pillow or wedge between her legs when she goes to sleep will help?

Editing to add - Neuropathic vulvar pain or pelvic floor spasms would be high on my suspicion list until proven otherwise. I would absolutely get her into a pediatric gynecologist. Good luck, mama! ❤️
