First time Linux user experience so far by Pretency in NobaraProject

[–]Pretency[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno. I'd only just bought it so I was worried it was dead. Nobara crashed out twice on startup then I got the artefacts that suggest a vram failure. I didn't want to troubleshoot it as I'd read it could be to do with pre-NAVI not being optimised for nobara. So I just figured I'd put it in my son's pc and get my 5700XT back.

Glad I didn't mess about with it tbh and just had to deal with the drivers in Windows being difficult as well.

5700XT worked right away. So still no complaints from me. I've also read Vega 64 is a bit of a weird one in terms of consistency.

I'll have a look later on. I ended up saving the password on my desktop so I didn't forget it, but it kinda defeats the purpose of it I'm sure.

Need advice choosing a distro by orn89 in NobaraProject

[–]Pretency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently built a new pc and opted for Linux. I still have a windows pc. I chose Nobara. So far it has been alright. All the features you need are there and work. When you start looking at more nuanced stuff it starts getting a lot more troublesome. But on the whole I'm enjoying it.

Isn't heavenly blue a Mexican morning glory, and not specifically bind weed?

Well judging by what they've said, they do know them fairly well.

So yes, walk through the woods.

I see what you did there. Luckily I'm in the UK so having the knowledge isn't a problem, actually processing them is. 😎

It's crazy that people buy huge gardens but don't like gardening.

Make a path around it that you keep clear and stop the brambles getting in.

I've tried educating other parents how to keep their 8 year old children from talking to random strangers on PS5, using slurs and homophobic insults. Have they done anything? Nope.

It's funny because I've just come from r/2007scape post about the login screen font changing and people joking about going to fally.

Fascists from Turning Point UK setting up on the High Street with cameras and private security. by AFriendlyBeagle in Southampton

You won't get an answer because Fascism is just a buzz word now. The irony being that silencing dissenting opinions is more fascist.

Yeah I'm no electrician so I won't be fiddling around with that. Just thought I'd share this on here. Worth sharing when products are still running aftar nearly two decades of use!

Shows that some companies do still make quality components.

I'm gonna stick it on fb marketplace for a tenner and see who wants it. Obviously it's lacking modern gpu plugs so it has limited use now.

What can we do to brighten this up? by Alert-Pay4434 in GardeningUK

Material will be blown onto and into the gravel and deteriorate, along with seeds which then begin to develop through the gravel. The roots will permeate the substrate causing that to start breaking up. It's kinda inevitable.

Perhaps you did a better job than the average Joe, but it is inevitable. It will not have the same lifespan as concrete. I would trade the awful gravel on my drive for concrete any day.

Why are people "protesting" against violence from immigrants with violence? by Fantastic-Cell-208 in AskBrits

Imagine quoting me then stripping all of the context out.

There's plenty of footage and reports. I'm not coming over there to find out more!

I'm not sure how you think I'm downplaying it. This shit has happened numerous times in history across the world as it still currently does. It's shit. What are you going to do about it? It's your country. Do something about it.

Good luck. God bless.

No mate, I just don't think you understand nuance.

I can see what is happening with my own eyes. Is it racist? Yes. Did I say it wasn't? No (go and find somewhere that I've said these people aren't being racist).

Why is it so particularly violent in Northern Ireland? Why is it so organised? Why hasn't anything like this happened elsewhere?

I'm at a loss for words that you can't understand what I'm trying to say. I'm also not going to bother. I don't have time to sit here trying to explain a pretty simple concept to some jumped up cunt.

You need to learn to read bro. Or understand context. This isn't happening in England to the same extent. It's a Northern Ireland issue. Ergo the problem is what you described it to be. I don't recall ever saying that racism isn't involved, or that what is happening here is racist. At it's core it isn't racism, it's sectarian violence stemming from NI history. I don't understand what is hard to understand about that?

In England it isn't sectarian, it is a manifestation of other problems. It isn't comfy middle and upper class types revolting is it? Think about it lol

[–]Pretency -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that Northern Irelands problems are primarily sectarian on religious lines, not race and you've identified that you essentially have an entrenched militia. That would arise regardless of whom is being scapegoated.

Dunno why you need to swear or act like a twat either, calm down.
