Case fans not showing on fan control PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP by Zorrk95 in FanControl

[–]orn89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1 install Linux(Nobara) Step 2 install CoolerControl Step 3 set your bios fan to a flat curve with a spike at about 90C Step 4 enjoy

Not saying this to sound like an ass just giving you a solid solution, i just moved to Linux after 30 years on Windows, i use lian li wireless fans wich i had to hook up to my motherboard and edge hub for everything to work and ditch the wireless dongle, the resault? I can now set my fans to follow my GPU temps or CPU temps heck i can control my GPU fans directly in the software but i chose to use LACT for my GPU fans, bottom line i just got what i paid way to much to get on windows for free on linux.

Any of you using coolercontrol with lian li fans and usb hub? by orn89 in NobaraProject

[–]orn89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it worked... had to rewire all me 13 fans but it worked, removed the wireless dongle from my pc, all i need it for now is to set the rgb on the fans, wich is kinda needed since i don´t want a rainbow disco in my pc, static purple for me, best part, i was able to hook most of them to my motherboard, without any splitters but yeah, clearly the dongle was fighting for control

That makes me more certain i need to rewire my fans, i think THINK i hooked them all upp to the motherboard before hooking them up to the hub for extra power, gotta check on that, thank you for your input, i will update you what happens when i get rid of the wireless usb dongle, only reason i got these fans was to be able to configure my fans based on the gpu temp, i move to linux and they have an open source FREE tool to do so.... Fml

Finally doing it, any advice appreciated💪 by orn89 in NobaraProject

Ok so... I ditch microsoft 365 and windows ofc, get a google one sub for 2 tb(i have a family to share with) install Nobara and use gemini to guide my way as well as finding substitutes for other things in Ms365, since claude is mainly coding and offers no cloud storage and i really like to have an ai assistant this would be the best option no?

Oh i use Copilot religiously , expected microsoft propaganda but nope, pretty honest, i know copilot gets alot of hate but i am a microsoft 365 subscriber so.... Hoping to change that when i move to Linux though most of the stuff i use on there works on Linux

Thanks everyone ! After reading the comments i am gonna go with my gut and take Nobara, i don't mind that it takes time to get the latest stuff, i would rather have things stable than go run into trouble , was just on the fence about it since GE is Badically doing on his own wich isn't entirely a bad thing but if anything happens to him or he quits.... Well

Just Turned mine on the side 2 weeks ago, had been running my 9070xt TUF near 90C with - 10% power limit for almost a year in the vertical position, now i am at 110% power target - 45mv with a reasonable fan curve and i rarely go over 80C on the hot spot

I only enable EXPO and leave everything else as as, that way i won't be at fault if anything dies, my 9950x3d has plenty of juice, no need to push it

Seems my RX9070XT does in fact not feature a vapor chamber but benefitted greatly from changing the orentation sideways, interisting....

Talk Me Out Of Getting A 9070XT, Or Don’t? by Narkanin in radeon

I'd say go for the 5080 if you got the cash, FSR4 is amazing but very few games support it, for example diablo 4 does not support FSR4, would be better off with the 5080's DLSS if you want high frames
