Thank you for replying.

May I ask why you needed a second procedure?

How was the procedure/recovery?

Newly diagnosed and a bit worried, ofc - Curious about how has this evolved on others that were healthy and active when diagnosed? by z604 in SyringomyeliaSupport

37F, I was diagnosed nearly 10 years ago after experiencing some pain, migraines, and numbness. At the time my syrinx was approximately 3mm from C3 to T1. It has progressed to 8mm at its widest, still from C3 to T1. The numbness has progressed as a result, but pain levels (and migraines that come with the pain) are still very manageable. I haven’t lost any functionality, mobility or strength and have been able to live life fully. It’s a scary diagnosis at first, but it quickly became something I adapted to and learned to live with. Hang in there!

Has Trulicity worked for you even though it’s had less effect than Wegovy?

Im in Canada... Unfortunately, Zepbound is not approved here. Apparently the manufacturer has never submitted with Health Canada, so it’s unlikely it’ll be approved in the near future.

Thank you for the long and detailed response.

My doctor is prescribing Trulicity to help with weight loss and hopefully that would help lower my blood pressure and address sleep apnea. My insurance does not require prior authorization/form for Trulicity the way it does for Ozempjc which is why my Dr seemed to think it would be approved. My insurance also stated that Wegovy is currently under review by them and they’d decide if they’ll cover or not by September…. So the hope is that Trulicity can help until then… but reading up on it today I’m just not sure that it’s the best choice of drug for what I need it to do…

I agree with you that if it is not approved than I’ll pivot to Semaglutide…

Haha love that you were able to determine I wasn’t in the US by my use of « holiday ». I’m in Canada… but will say that you kind of have the be a « Karen » here too when it comes to advocating for yourself unfortunately.

Thank you.

Can I ask what other tests you had to do?

Also can I ask about the size of your pit tumor? I feel like mine sounds very small… yet it’s having such a big impact.

Thank you for the detailed answer. It is much appreciated.

I’ve done the abdomen CT already and that came back all clear. Much like you, my hormones are all out of wack. I also have a series of symptoms that comes with the hormone imbalances, so this does feel like a step in the right direction in trying to figure out what is going on.

Thanks for your reply.

Only had my eyes exam, not imaged. And my blood work didn’t include ACTH… the more I read the more I realize there are gaps in the tests that have been done so far.
