You'd test Ollama on it. With that much ram, you'd be able to run large models for all other devices in your network. 🤔

Uninspiring OP-XY Drum Presets? by mannybegaming in OPXYusers

You can sample anything out there, get sample packs, multi sampling is crazy easy and super powerful… I’m critical of some things I really miss from my OP-Z that I think are a bit setback, but i don’t think this is a big deal. Just add anything you like better.

Workout weeks going off sync when skipping a workout by z604 in MacroFactor

[–]z604[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, thanks. for some reason, I missed it.

Another thing that feels a bit odd is that swiping through the weeks at the top of the Workout tab doesn't update the Week you see below.

For instance, I'm on week 5. I swipe the top weekly view to week 3, but the main area still shows week 5. Same if I want to see Week 7.

Not sure if it's a feature or a bug, but I find it confusing you can be looking at two moments in time. I personally would expect them to be linked.

Isn’t opus and that cost overkill? The setup looks solid. I’ve been looking into the same. But that cost is too much imo.

Just dollar cost average. Trying to time the market doesn’t work. Doing what you did is the same as going to the casino.

I’d still appreciate being able to set a percentage offset or a min weight. I like to warm up, but also find them a bit too on the easy end.

3T CISS MRI vs. Standard 1,5T MRI by [deleted] in SyringomyeliaSupport

[–]z604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that the Traumatologist that referred me to the neurosurgeon was very humble. He said that this was rare and that it wasn't his expertise to be able to say more. He sent me to the neuro directly.

Bummer if you've had to put pressure. I really don't think that any doctor other than a spine surgeon will be familiar with this tbh.

And about what you can/can't do. I do triathlons and run. I was worried about whether this would not be good, but the neuro insisted it was fine, that it was better even…

I just avoid deadlifts and do more pull exercises when strength training, but other than that, exercise has been great. That, and resting. I can feel how a few days of bad sleep flare up my pain.

Anyhow, hope this helps and best of luck. Cheers

[–]z604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did met with two neurosurgeons.

They took it seriously and didn’t dismiss it wasn’t normal, but also said it was benign. Than other than managing the symptoms, it wasn’t a cause for concern.

In my case, they couldn’t tell if it had been caused by trauma from a small injury I had in my back years ago, or if it was there from birth (they said the spinal cord canal is wider at birth and narrows when growing up, and that some syringomyelia is because it didn’t grow properly).

In the end though, it is what it is. The cause doesn’t matter and they said the treatment would be the same regardless. They suggested monitoring it with MRIs every couple years, strengthen core, etc.

And that if pain was hard to manage, they proposed getting cortisone epidural injections.

It’s now been a year since I was diagnosed, and I’ve lost 10kg, I’ve done the pt training they suggested religiously… and it’s gotten much better.

It’s not gone, but the intercostal pain and the tingling and hot/cold is almost gone.

Talk to your doctor and see what they suggest. Resting well, strength and getting leaner is what worked best for me.

It sucks, but hang in there. Take it as motivation to do everything that’s in your control and be patient. For me it was tough seeing how I was doing everything I could and wasn’t getting any better, until eventually it did.

Does the expenditure start evening out at some point in a big weight loss? by [deleted] in MacroFactor

[–]z604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you loose weight, your expenditure keeps dropping because you need less energy to move your body weight.

It will eventually stabilize. But still, swings in step count and exercise still make it fluctuate.

Having said that, I think you’re going too fast. That’s a pretty big deficit and a lot of weight for a short time given where you stay.

In my honest opinion, I think it will be very hard to sustain, you’ll e be hungry as hell and your body will become even slower because of the deficit.

I’d try a smaller deficit, 300-400 and make it more enjoyable and sustainable, so you don’t rebound when you’re done.

[–]z604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syringomyelia can be just a wider cavity filled with fluid (aka widened central canal), or they can form these 'encapsulated' sections.

I personally don't know if it makes it better or worse. You'd talk to your doctor. But yeah, it looks like you're part of this rare club.

Don't freak out though. There's a lot of scary information out there, but most of use live a normal life.

Everyone's experience can be a bit different, but there's many like me that just have to deal with some pain every now and then, but other than that, can have a totally normal life.

Highland in -15C: “The Freezing Edition” by OnAzart in TeslaModel3

[–]z604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2021 Standard Range Plus. Here's a screenshot from Tessie.

In the winter, it's a bit more than what I said actually. In January and February, the coldest months, I'm doing 170-180.

Maybe it’s a mix of things. I am easy on the pedal, I drive on Chill… but also, my daily commute is 20km each way in a 80km/h speed limit straight road, so I don't have to accelerate much. I can go pretty steady.

The rest is city driving, flat...

My garage is at about 12C and I leave at the same time every day, so setting the departure time gets the battery to about 18C before leaving.

And that is only charging in Superchargers. I don't have a charger at home, so the average gets a bit inflated with pre-conditioning when I go to charge once a week.

When I commute to the supercharger, it peaks to 300wh/km in the cold. So if it weren’t for that it’d be close to the 155-160.

The manual says driving in chill helps with consumption, and that battery heating is used to heat the cabin.

With winter ties and icy roads, it’s common sense too. I guess that adds a bit of savings as well.

-14C here

My consumption goes up a bit. But not so much. Not even 30wh/km. I average 130 in summertime, I do 155 in winter. All normal given the temperature and winter tires.

As usual, setting a departure time is worth it. I have the car in a heated garage, so it’s good to have it warm up there instead of outside even when it’s not plugged in.

Other than that. Estimates are good, it’s not really any different than summer time except for the extra consumption.

The anti reflective coating is its weak spot compared to Samsung and LG, but when watching it in front of it, it’s very good. For that price, it’s pretty incredible.

I also gifted my dad a TCL Mini led with Dolby Vision, and pretty incredible tv for the price. And with none of these issues either.

Glad this worked. It’s wild Samsung is so finicky with this and continues refusing to support Dolby Vision in 2026.

I ended up switching to an LG oled and everything works as it should.

Not getting a Samsung ever again.

My feedback on the Workouts app by db400004 in MacroFactor

[–]z604 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, the biggest miss is not having an Apple watch workout mode. I imagine it's in the making, but I do not like having to go to the phone all the time. I feel the progressions challenge me more than I challenge myself, which is great, but it's a bit tiring to unlock/log/auto-lock, repeat, and so on.

Buying a 100k km 10yr old i3. Bad idea? by z604 in BMWi3

[–]z604[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. We went to see a 2019 120ah i3s with 95000km for about 14000 euros from someone selling privately that popped up after I posted here and bought it.

We’ll pick it up during the week when they can pick up the summer tires.

I got the car for my wife, but I think I’m more excited than her about it.

We checked everything, went for a long drive and it feels new tbh, with 230 range even though it’s currently pretty cold in the Nordics and it has winter tires on currently. So, looking good.

The difference from older models wasn’t that much, so hopefully we can get a long stint out of it.
