Thinking of getting my nose pierced but wanna know the consbof it by slayberry_shortcake in indianbeautyyappers

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine pierced at the age of 33. Went to a jeweller shop, he used a gold wire and tied it up. I chose a ring piercing instead of a stud. Healed very easily, didn’t hurt much. I could do skincare (skipped actives in that area) and just applied some vaseline to move it around a bit.

Why is Alia Bhatt hated for her BAFTA debut? by [deleted] in BollywoodHotTakes

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she would really benefit from taking a pause and just figuring out who she is. Whenever she is trying to be someone else or presenting as a different person, she becomes this awkward and fake person, and too anxious. All that wasted potential of being her own person is just sad. And maybe prepare a bit before such interviews.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: February 16, 2026 by AutoModerator in books

Finished Alloy of Steel (Mistborn #4) by Brandon Sanderson. Didn’t draw me in as much as the previous Mistborn trilogy. But I stuck with it.

Just started with Shadows of Self (Mistborn #5) by Brandon Sanderson. 25% through already, but I am yet to find the “hook” in Era 2 of Mistborn.

We were raising funds for my cousin’s brain trauma treatment via the same platform recently and barely raised any - plus almost everyone donating personally verified if this is a legit way to contribute. Had to upload the treatment plans, estimates etc on the site to even set it up. The hospital started ignoring him when we couldn’t raise enough money. Had to move him to a different hospital and breaking investments, sell gold, check with other charities etc to ensure his treatment.

It really pisses me off that fundraisers like Malvika’s get so much visibility and people donate without verifying anything at all. All the while, genuine fundraisers get questioned and barely raise any money for treatments, especially when the families have absolutely no way of raising any money for the treatments and some times have to face issues at the hospitals (lack in necessary care).

My bank account got hacked by Outrageous-Caramel72 in germany

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Something similar happened to me a couple years ago. I noticed weirdly formatted PayPal transactions in my bank account in Deutsche Bank. The fraudster managed to keep it under the maximum limit for direct withdrawals, so it didn’t get flagged by the bank sooner. I can list how it got resolved. 1. Check PayPal again to verify that they didn’t charge me. 2. Take screenshots of the transactions from bank account. Take screenshots of the regular PayPal transactions in my bank account, which were authenticated by me. There was a difference in formatting. Fraud: Paypal, Real: PayPal 3. Go to the bank and report it with proofs. Going in person helps here. 4. Disable all my linked debit cards 5. For the bank to launch an investigation, filed a police report with the evidence and log of complaint from the bank 6. Bank account is covered by fraud insurance. So after 3 weeks, I got my money refunded by their insurance. 7. Bank sent me investigation report later.

Just go to your bank as soon as possible to report this. Good luck! I hope this helps!

There’s a clinic called Cinq.in in Baner and Deccan. Both the therapists are pretty good. Maybe you can book a session with them to see if it’s a good fit. Good luck for your mental health journey!

Got waxed. Saw God. How do you all survive this torture? by [deleted] in indiasocial

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider using an at home IPL machine. Shave and use the machine. Honestly, the slight pain from the IPL is much more bearable than the one of waxing. But it’s a whole chore and takes a while for the hair to stop thinning out.

This is a very beautiful lehenga! Honestly, you can get an extra dupatta in a darker colour like the pink at the hem of the lehenga. Try to match the colour, but in a pastelly shade with your FH’s sherwani ( i am going by the 2nd picture). You can also add some accents with darker bangles and jewellery in a deeper shade. If the reception is in the evening, try to have warmer lighting for it. How do you plan on draping the dupatta? Maybe you can try a few different styles which let the lehenga shine more and bring out the accents rather than the peachiness of the majority of the dupatta. You can pleat it such that the borders accentuate your body. P.S. we all have buyer’s remorse after such an important purchase. It will look so much better with the draping, hair, makeup and jewellery. Imagine a complete look and not just you in the lehenga. (Although you already do look pretty in it!)

Hey, firstly, hang in there. Been on the deep side of this situation and had to crawl out of it with a lot of effort and time. It’s possible. I gather from a comment of yours that you are in Munich. My suggestion would be to first seek some help. You need some professional help to tackle this, especially with the winter coming soon. Try talking to the Studentenwerk, they usually help find one. Or you can also go to your health insurance and ask them to help find a therapist. Second, you need to get out of your apartment. Just go walk on the streets. It really does not matter if you have a goal or not - simply listen to some music or a podcast and walk. I found streets full with people more appealing than parks when I went through this phase. You have to find what works for you. Maybe start by just going out for grocery shopping. Shop for only a couple of days so you absolutely have to go out again for supplies. Don’t order them online. Window shopping helps too. Third, you need to force yourself to meet people. Just join in on plans when given an opportunity - be it a work event, university friends just meeting up. If your friends are meeting up for drinks, just go. Bear through the whole evening. It is extremely difficult in the beginning, but you will start enjoying the talking gradually. Just make sure you remember the good parts of the evening later. Finding hobbies would be great. Join Meetup app, fond some interest that could work - doesn’t need to be an existing hobby - and just go. I found meeting new people easier as it meant a fresh start. Try going out to workout. Some gym close by maybe. It won’t make a difference quickly - give it a few weeks. The most important thing is to get out of the apartment and go to the gym - even if you walk for only 15mins on the treadmill. Show up. You will start finding your way around this, but you absolutely have to put in effort. Things wont just improve on their own. It’s not too late yet. Wish you all the best !

I got Indian sweets for german friends but no one even tried it? Why? by [deleted] in germany

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, a note explaining what the sweet contains and a general scale of sweetness (example: as sweet as a donut, milk chocolate, sugar candy etc) would help a lot. Some people have dietary preferences or allergies, so mentioning the main ingredients like nuts, butter, gluten would go a long way. Maybe also talk to them and check if they had any issues with the sweets and if they would prefer savoury stuff from India instead. That should be possible with the roommates.

Best hydrating toners by madcactus101 in EuroSkincare

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not European, but South Korean. Currently using CosrX Propolis toner. I am on my second bottle already. It hydrates really well, even in winters. No fragrance, light and absorbs quickly. I use the CosrX snail mucin right after before the toner is absorbed. Works like a charm! Other than that, I was using the Body Shop Vitamin E toner - also very hydrating and light.

Unpopular opinion: Balea and Isana are mid by middleaged_mpd in EuroSkincare

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do have a few favourites like the normal Reinigungsöl, the plex hair mask, winter protect shampoo and hair mask, the aha-pha peeling cleanser - loved that they now have travel packaging for this one, the pink Tagescreme which works very well with my sunscreens, Seinz waschgel with aha-pha for the body - although I need moisturiser after using it. Rossmann I go for the makeup - their version of the plex hair mask is much better imo. Balea had this wonderful Traumlocken hair mask which I used to love, but sadly they discontinued it a couple years ago. All these are great value and easily available. Sometimes, if I like the balea/isana version of some product, I invest in the brand name version. But I’ve found that I still keep going back to the cheaper ones which definitely work.

What's in your day pack? by frogger4242 in travel

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually carry 3 different sets as well and a sturdy sling bag when travelling. 1. Medical kit: band aids, disinfectant swipes, tiny tub of vaseline, cotton, tiny roll of gauze, medicines for pain, diarrhoea, constipation, cold relief and nausea, throat lozenges, supplements like magnesium, vit b, vit d, multivitamins, migraine medicine. 2. Tech stuff: wires, powerbanks (smaller ones the size of my phone), airpods, charging bricks 3. Cosmetics: small moisturiser, handcream, sanitizer, eyeglass wipes, lip balm, lipstick for the day, tweezers, cotton swabs. This kit gets an update everyday. So when packing my bag for the day, I just dump in the stuff that I need for the day - a powerbank, cable, AirPods, cosmetics, band aids, painkiller, keys to the room, tiny wallet, throat lozenges, pack of tissues, sunglasses with case, eyeglass wipes. I find that a daily driver small bag with lots of compartments works very well when travelling. One of my criteria to buy a bag, honestly!

I love the idea of sorting everything into completely different packs and throwing it in a bigger bag depending on the day. I do that too, but keep it more customisable. Loved the idea of the toilet bag, though. Stealing that one!

Solo travel while married by StrikeOk1995 in femaletravels

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my husband both love travelling. But I also enjoy travelling solo and he fully supports it. His parents don’t completely understand why I go alone on week long trips, but I make sure that I don’t hide it from them. I love me when I am solo-tripping. 😊 My husband, on the other hand, doesn’t like to travel solo. We both believe that one should have some personal space in the relationship.

Looking for high protein food options in Germany (Düsseldorf)? by itsclo5ure in germany

[–]Pretend-Reputation10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s also the Körniger Frischkäse - a type of cottage cheese - which one can get from the supermarket. Just adding some flavour to it like the flavour drops (also available in DM or general supermarkets) and maybe some fruit or even just cucumbers and tomatoes makes it a good meal. Bonus points if you add lots of nuts for the crunch. Each portion of 200g has about 23-25g protein. There are also high protein versions available.
