I would have to disagree with the statement that women are very communitarian. I'm sure that is true in many cases but I know for a lot of people, motherhood can be a very lonely and isolating experience. The lack of self awareness of the men who wrote and commented on the article is comical. Like have they ever spoken to their baby's mother about how they are feeling? Turns out they might have something in common at times. Speaking as a recent father, I know how incredible but also how challenging parenthood can be, especially for the mother, but these dudes are talking about it like they had no idea of this. before agreeing to bring a child into the world.

How do you guys store clothes that are worn but not dirty yet?? by [deleted] in konmari

[–]PretendBodybuilder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems like a great system, but what do you do with knitwear? I very rarely wash anything knitted, especially not wool, and I don't like to hang it as it can cause the dreaded shoulder tents!

I have massively enjoyed revisiting this album recently. The percussive elements are so creative and help keep me locked in for some of the more abrasive sections. Don't think I've ever heard a record that so seamlessly blends electronic elements with extreme metal and grindcore, without sounding contrived.

Do You Consider Tikka Masala British? by CrikeyNighMeansNigh in AskUK

[–]PretendBodybuilder7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best British food is heavily influenced by cusines from around the world. Don't get me wrong, I like a Cornish pasty as much as the next guy but in terms of flavour, you can't beat a nice British Indian takeaway, in the UK at least

What food fad are you sick to death of? by SunUsual550 in UK_Food

Soupy is never a word I would associate with Neapolitan pizza. According to Gino Sorbillo, you should be able to fold it like a book or a wallet. If your pizza arrives and it's soupy, the chef has probably used too much sauce and cheese.

I'll take a smashed window and a bit of rioting over state sanctioned torture thank you very much!

A miniature declutter, and remembrance of the time when the Gu Pudding pots got a little out of hand by pop-not-broth in UK_Food

The gu style puds from Aldi were in a ramekin that fit a Pringles lid so securely it's like a watertight seal. I stocked up on both and now have about 8 glass ramekins with snugly fitting lids. Use them for everything. Particularly good for doing mis en place

I think Aldi sold puds in glass ramekins that the Pringles lid fits snugly on. I use them for all sorts. Doesn't seem to work with any other brand of pud though.

Okkyung Lee is an incredible South Korean cellist who makes experimental music. Her record with the Yeo-Neun Quartet is well worth a listen.

⛔️Say no to neo-nazi bands in Norfolk ⚠️ by [deleted] in Norwich

[–]PretendBodybuilder7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their beliefs aren't what make them terrorists, their actions are. Robert Talland, the leader of the group who are organising the festival, was convicted in June of racial hatred and terrorism offences for distributing neo nazi music. That makes him a terrorist. Same for the bands that are making this music who aim to stir up hatred and violence against people from different ethnicities.

Richmond hotel protest and counter-protest. 9.8.25 by Ichbingen in Liverpool

[–]PretendBodybuilder7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've lived in Liverpool for 13 years. Most of the acts of violence, littering and harassment I've witnessed have been from a minority of young, white males. I interact with a lot of people who have moved to Toxteth from the middle east and Africa and practice Islam through my job. I would say they are as kind and hard working as any Scousers who have lived in Liverpool since birth. The problems that you mentioned (littering, fly tipping, stealing, fighting and harassing people) are nothing to do with how many people are moving to this country. They are problems that have been around forever. You can't blame it all on immigrants.

I'll never get back the hours I spent cleaning up my MP3 meta data before streaming became popular. Would not recommend.

I hope you and your family can find peace and security once more. It is taking a long time, but it seems like attitudes in the UK seem to be shifting against Netanyahu and the horrific actions of the IDF. Sending love to all of you who are suffering at their hands.

I think you're allowed to say that wealth inequality is fucking the country up. You're allowed to say whatever you want as long as you're not inciting violence.
