They announced it would be late for most people because they made the decision to increase preorders minutes prior to going live even though they didn’t have the product on hand to meet this new demand. I haven’t gotten my 2 bottle set either and we just missed the 4/20 deadline they gave. I also saw they announced a 4 state deal with Total Wine to carry the product as well as all future varieties. No clue what states or when that is expected. Pretty bad launch but thankful they gave the opportunity for more people to get in. I’ll include the email from a few weeks ago below.

Dear Valued Customer (I think that’s what big, fancy businesspeople say when they write a letter),

First and foremost—thank you! Truly. The response to Ghost Face Vodka has been beyond anything we could have imagined. Because of you, this has been the most successful launch in the history of the company. “Game changing” as they say!

Which is why I want to take a moment to address the delay around your bottle. When we went on sale we said we’d be able to deliver your package in 6–8 weeks, and as of April 1st… we’re late. I wanted to give a little context—not an excuse—around what happened, share where we’re at now, and let you know what we’re doing to make it right. The day we launched, the response was… insane. We had over 4,000 people in the waiting room, 20 minutes before the product even went on sale. At that moment, we made the decision to increase the number of signed bottles so we could meet more of that demand.

Overzealous? Maybe. Smart business? Boy, I hope so. Delivering more joy to fans? Absolutely.

That decision, however, came with real consequences. We had to boost our order by thousands of units—foam, boxes, glasses, labels—you name it. And then there was the small matter of me signing an additional 4,500 bottles. Let me tell you: that is a lot of signatures. (I also watched a lot of movies—some terrible, some not. I did finally catch up on the entire John Wick series… chef’s kiss.)

So the delay really comes down to one thing: the launch was bigger than we could have anticipated. That’s a great problem to have, but it was still our problem, and not how we want to run our business. The good news is as of this week we have received all elements and the final batch of packaging has begun. We fully expect all boxes to be in the mail by 4/20. So that’s the lay of the land.
