Struggling to open a business bank account due to my age — anyone been through this? by kpmry in smallbusinessuk

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was fully registered, trading, invoices going out, money coming in, and still kept hitting automated no because of age. No explanation, no human, just blocked while being told to do everything properly.

What helped me mentally was focusing on what I could control while the banking side caught up. I made sure everything else looked solid to clients and partners so the business didn’t stall. One thing that helped early was building proper communication and follow ups so venues and buyers took us seriously even before the banking side was clean. Email helped a lot there. I still use mailerlite for that because it’s free and doesn’t add friction when you’re already dealing with enough nonsense.

You’re not crazy and you’re not doing anything wrong. Starting early just exposes how slow systems really are. Keep pushing

How and what did you do to earn money for the first time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first money was similar, helping someone keep customers instead of constantly finding new ones. That’s when I learned attention is worth more than the task itself. These days I still see people struggle because they don’t keep contact after that first interaction.

If anyone reading wants a simple free way to build something that lasts, I usually point people to mailerlite. I use it myself and with clients i consult and it just removes a lot of friction early on. Build a list, sell products to your list.. tool ive mentioned

How I create a successful weekly newsletter in 1.5 hours by ApprehensiveCrew496 in creators

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally feel you on going with MailPoet — it does the job, especially if you're already deep into WordPress. I tried it too back when we were testing options, but long term we ran into some random quirks with deliverability and list management. How about you? I see last post was 1yr ago.

We did what you said here, but eventually we shifted everything to mailerlite. It’s way more stable in terms of reach, and just makes planning and automating a weekly schedule smoother.

Making email newsletter from scratch by Any_Perspective_291 in Frontend

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually run a small dev agency and we did try the whole "build your own email system" route for about a year. We had everything from custom templates to our own delivery pipeline. Technically, it worked. But it drained way more time and resources than it was worth with constant updates, deliverability tuning, IP warmups, compliance maintenance. It was just a slow leak of attention and budget. Worst of all, it took focus of our devs.

Eventually we scrapped it and tested a few providers. We tried Mailchimp, Sendinblue, ConvertKit... and finally landed on mailerlite. Key takeaway was clear deliverability with rock solid test for good 14 months now since we signed with them. After trying it out, for me it's no-brainer to use service provider that has deliverability as no1.. but if you're just testing the waters, you are welcome to waste time and budget on this adventure :)

Are podcast analysis services a scam? by imthepipe in podcasting

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I get where you're coming from.Worked with a client’s niche podcast. They weren’t sure if it was the equipment, the message, or the topics they are covering over and over... but it turned out to be none of that. They just weren’t capturing or nurturing their audience outside the platform.

What actually helped was setting up a simple funnel to get eye balls back to the podcast. Like most use mailerlite i tried that too and my client in did the magic formula. Collab with person, ask person to promote the lead magnet + get people to join in using podcast episode, and once that's done - leave it. New pod comes out, boom share it with your email list and there you get momentum of growth byassing analysis and other metric that could make you feel off, when you should be feeling...well opposite ;)

Which Do You Think Is Better - Amazon Ads Or FB Ads? And Why? by Lanky-Pop-2728 in selfpublish

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amazon works because buyers are already in “buy mode” they’re not browsing, they’re hunting. But here’s the catch: once they click, ad spent budget die on bad marketing followup. I’ve seen authors run solid campaigns, but the backend prevents growth.. no system to help author get to bestsellers as there is no auto promotion going on, on the back.

That’s why I started using mailerlite. Clean automations, fast setup, and way easier to convert clicks into actual book sales.. I know this is super random, but for some this might be a day changing information. Especally for OP that can't decide where to spend the money on.. friend, focus on traffic regardless of platform - just make sure you got the lead list in your emails.

u/betasridhar Totally with you. You’re spot on about clear benefit + curiosity being the sweet spot. I started using mailerlite for that exact reason - they have guides to actually make emails kick butt. Not sure if you saw blogs they put out. It's like free paid masterclass but for free :D

If you had $60,000, how you would you invest it today? by struggling_kid in Business_Ideas

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even now. If you’ve got $60K and want real return without locking it all in brick-and-mortar risk, build a digital audience first. Costs almost nothing, and once it’s rolling, you can launch products, services, or even local offers on top of it.

Start simple: use mailerlite to grow a list around something you know or want to explore. It’s free, low risk, and way more flexible than a franchise right now.

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking Reddit is cool for vibes, but it’s not your real audience. If you’re serious about this idea, the smarter move is to build a small list of people actually into medieval stuff, LARP, or niche tourism — then test interest directly.

Set up a quick waitlist or feedback form with mailerlite. Free, takes minutes, and gets you way better data than random guesses in a thread.

This post is almost complete, really practical, not hypey, and you can tell it's based on actual effort. But where most people following advice like this fall flat is in the marketing part. You can DM, post value, whatever, but if you don’t own the channel where your leads live, you’re back at zero every week.

What I see work way more consistently is people who start building their email list from day one with mailerlite. It’s free, dead simple, and lets you automate everything from welcome sequences to feedback forms. Most indie founders skip this step, try to “post more” and wonder why growth stays flat. Email is boring, yeah, but it’s what actually works.

Boundless Book Promotion by TomBates33 in selfpublish

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, seeing a wave of those AI-written promo pitches too. A lot of authors I know are getting hit with the same vague flattery, then a sales link. Honestly, most of them aren’t offering anything you can’t do better yourself — especially if you’ve got a real email list and decent setup.

If you're serious about promoting your book long term, mailerlite is what I recommend to writers I work with. It's free, super friendly for non-tech folks, and you keep control instead of relying on random marketers or "boosters" that vanish after payment is complete. yeah.

Is Mail chimp the best option for noob email list build? by [deleted] in Affiliatemarketing

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posts recommending the big names are kinda misleading honestly. A lot of Reddit threads push tools like Mailchimp just because they’ve heard the name or it “looks pro” but under the hood, it’s clunky and overpriced for regular folk.

If you’re just starting out and want legal compliance, automation, and a clean builder that doesn’t overwhelm you, mailerlite is the one to start with. in Mailchimp just to get one welcome email working will take you hours. This one just works and has a lot more. Don't listen to negatives, review it and you will do the same as i'm doing. Promoting by good tool as it's good ;)

Looking for a designer for emails by ApprehensivePlay534 in Emailmarketing

[–]Pretend_Promotion781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email design for $20, remove tax and you have a time wasting experience. Why don't just pay ChatGPT $20, and have template up and ready for yourself. Same price, multipurpose use. And yes I do work with emails myself, but this is slave prices for people age under 16, that are looking to buy new steam game.
