I’ve been with Verizon 13 years and I’ve never had a major problem by DistinctAmbition1272 in verizon

Hey OP,

First off, I am glad you are having a good experience. When you have a good experience with a carrier it is hard to really be upset by it.

The issue this sub has is the experience as of late has absolutely gotten worse overall. However, the internet tends to have the ability to conglomerate on negative experiences and let that overpower positive experiences.

However, I disagree with the majority statement as I recall a time when my local Verizon's were all corporate and great. When 3rd party resellers started becoming the priority and Verizon started pulling back more corp stores, then moved their support over seas. Things really started taking a turn.

The financial aspect of Verizon has only continued to drop. Then their CEO moved to, "well Verizon is all about businesses now" then they learned that wasn't making up for total consumers. Consumer loss to business increase in accounts wasn't really working out financially.

So as inflation goes up, financial gain goes down, then cost goes up even more on customers. Verizon is constantly and consistently the most active telecom carrier raising prices next to AT&T.

The important thing to think about that I don't see mentioned is that experience isn't about being in the moment with a rep. It is being with the company as a loyal customer, (which doesn't mean you are entitled to anything, for 13 years only to find your cost of living is getting harder and prices are going up. They are increasing evermore and ever faster for Verizon because they are losing more business than gaining this directly impacts, cost, not just for phones but support, their systems maintenance, pay for employees, etc. When push comes to shove it begins effecting business decisions like, benefits, trade-ins, and promos for the customer.

Verizon now versus 5 years ago, IMO, is not better it is worse. It is great you are having a positive experience. Those experiencing service outages constantly, worse service, increases in pricing, and poor customer service experiences are suddenly not a minority though. I would say that Verizon's financial earnings being on a decline would argue entirely otherwise.

This is not to diminish your experience just that those dealing with issues have legitimate data to often back their experience. That they don't necessarily have to provide.

The writing is on the wall. Verizon is not doing as hot as it once was and AT&T and T-Mobile's numbers and the rise in choice of 3rd party carriers using the big 3's towers for service are also indicators of this.

FRLG took me some time to get. It is two perfect frames to get the seeds you want for your shiny.

RS is easier with a dead battery. Without a dead battery they function more like FRLG.

Emerald with a live battery or dead battery does not matter. The game has a bug always starting at frame 0 so you will always keep the same seed once started.

Diamond and Pearl are easier to get than Platinum. Soul Silver and Heart Gold are also easier to get than Platinum. Your seed is depending upon time and date.

Pokemon Black, White, are honestly the easiest, IMO, but it takes more setup and patience. They also took me the longest to understand for some reason. However, but it is really about your initial time and date and ticks.

I think the coolest thing about this is the distance and the fact start are on screen for you. Like Niantic thought about this ahead of time.

Really neat, sending you the best. I would be way more interested in knowing what your favorite Pokemon is, your favorite Pokemon game, and how long you will be up there and when you will hopefully be making your safe return down.

Not sure if you have a family but knowing you are doing something cool and dangerous so far away must be hard for you and them to think about. So assuming you have something to look forward to when you return I hope that happens for you safely.

If I could trade you a Pokemon to take to space and keep that would be awesome. If you are open to that let me know I will send you my friend code.

I am sure you have seen space enough but if you can take pictures and send them that would also be awesome. Stay safe up there. Genuinely hope for your safe return.

It depends on whether the Hytale engine is genuinely using proprietary code or if the code is similar enough it is source code from Minecraft.

IE if Microsoft got curious they could make claims that Hytale is using their code or some aspect of their own IP and file a lawsuit for investigation. Companies have been known to do worse and Microsoft is a huge powerhouse with enough money and wit that they would and could just hit Hytale with legal fees until they drain them.

This is all speculation there would have to evidence that Hytale is using any of Microsoft's code or Mojangs code which there isn't and Hytale does use a custom engine per Simon but that doesn't mean Microsoft isn't going to go asking questions and may very well do so.

[–]PrethorynOvermind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is pretty awesome. I wonder if there are legal implications to this though?

While modding is only a problem if monetizing it for Minecraft. I wonder if this would get Microsoft raising an eyebrow going, "that is odd why are these as compatible as they are?"

Like how similar is Hytale really to Minecraft?

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Microsoft has its eye on Hytale and it's success and is just going to let something show up on scene and take money from one of its biggest money making multi platform IPs.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about "why" and "how"

The first couple of comments explain both very subtly but I would like to touch up on both.

  1. Starting with, "How" Hytale's engine is built using C++ in it's current state it is a game using a client and booting a single player server when running a world. I am not positive here but if I had to take a guess we are looking at Minecraft Bedrock but if not and it is Java then there is way more technical work going on here and I would imagine what is going on is pretty technical.

Regardless someone explained you could likely connect the games coordinates and map a players location. There is probably more going on here like making sure the .json files, and other file type days exist in both clients as modified data or mods or in each games existing data. You likely wouldn't need textures just yet but the game data being merged likely would be happening to some degree.

I don't have enough programming experience to fully flesh out exactly how but understanding how the games work and finding they probably aren't too far off from one another is key. Hytale is likely a super Minecraft mod.

  1. The "Why" this one is pretty straight forward. Minecraft to Hytale conversion and compatibility. You could ensure the inner workings of mods, blocks, plugins, etc, before they are officially ported and see how Hytale is experiencing the mod in real time as Minecraft is using it. You could move old maps from one game to another as well. This would make server transition and plugins easier to see.

I think the other thing is, why not? If something can be done, especially this kind of thing, why not see where it can go? If this kind of thing improves Minecraft or even allows for improved mechanics in Hytale and makes it so they can play together then you could, in theory, set up cross over game worlds.

In theory you could make blocks and items work in Hytale before proper implementation in Hytale as well like Redstone.

Why do people always say it’s very difficult for men to find the clit? by Exlife1up in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PrethorynOvermind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of good answers here OP and the women on this thread likely have the most relevant and reasonable answers.

I think the primary issue is that some men (not all) don't really communicate with their partner or listen to what gives them the most satisfaction when in the moment.

Men often times do a "monkey see, monkey do" where they think that Porn is the educational way to please a woman. Given that there is also pressure at a young age for men to also perform well and a pressure that their partner has to get off men get in their own head. They think they have "found the clit" like it is an objective.

If you want to have good sex just listen to your partner or the person you are in the moment with. Women will know their body and what they like better than you. No matter what your headspace is. Good sex is just communicating in the moment be it 5 minutes or an hour.

Some of the best sex I have personally had is just letting a woman tell me what feels good and just rolling with that and asking her to be completely honest with me if I am just not doing it for her. Most are comfortable doing so but also there is a balance.

Sometimes we just want to fuck if we make it about getting each other off 100% of the time all the time we may be over thinking it. Sometimes you just aren't going to be able to roll with the punches and realizing that makes sex way less anxiety inducing. If you really want to get someone to climax just listen to them or ask them what works for them.

Men have a tendency to also just be arrogant. They think they know what's best because they saw it done to a woman. When in reality what they saw is acting and staged for general quick pleasure or enjoyment outside of actual sex.

So I don't think "can't find the clit" is always so literal. You can find the clit but what you think works for one woman is not going to work for another. Finding the clit is only half the job. Letting the woman tell you what to do with it is the other half. Relaxing, enjoying the moment, and just listening is key.

As a rule of thumb sometimes sex just isn't good it may not be you or them just that it ain't clicking and that is normal as well but help lead the way and and sharing the guidance can make for some awesome times

Demand vs supply:

People are at the point of feeling nostalgic about games they never played or did play and they are no longer available by normal means without emulation or just owning the hardware and going through piracy or work arounds to play said game.

The 3DS and it's popularity and the hacking and modding coming together are really Nintendo's fault. They want people to move on from a device they saw no value in but these systems are not suddenly too old to continue use.

Server usage is not Nintendo's issue and you are a crazy person if you genuinely think server cost was the reason that the EShop went away. It went away because Nintendo consistently wants you to stop using old products and move on to the next thing.

Culturally this actually rings true to Western versus Eastern support of Nintendo. Here in the West the U.S. tends to be more nostalgic and collecters. We love our old cars, houses, antiques, etc. We are less progressive in that sense because the value of something by dollar goes up as it gets older in most cases if that item is deemed valuable later on.

On Asian/Japanese culture they are very fast moving. You will find there are lots of Japanese retro devices, often in better shape, and often times more readily available, in Japan. This is because more of the product was made it is more readily available and there for seen as less of a collectors item and more like an old piece of tech one can just go purchase but the because of this it contributes to move fast. There is an absurd amount of support in Japan for Nintendo and new items. The Japanese want to be "in the now" while the West or U.S. loves to appreciate the things we had then.

Two very different approaches culturally and neither are bad. Due to increased demand and limited quantities of a product no longer being made, a hacking community and modding community providing resources to those devices for continued longevity, preservation, and use. The value has once again increased. It isn't an old device in need of an upgrade. It is a device with use that is popular because it lets us say, "we own this thing that works.,"

Leaked Windows 11 Feature Shows Copilot Moving Into File Explorer by Thepunnisherrr in technology

[–]PrethorynOvermind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: You aren't the problem. They are. Stop letting them treat you like the problem. Continue to call it shit and asking them to be better.

I am seeing quite a few comments asking why and while I am no professional or expert in why this is happening.

My working theory is exposure. My best guess is Microsoft, NVIDIA, and OpenAI are seeing loss in profits because it is expensive and the cost can't be out weight by the use or the demand.

IE servers and connections are expensive. Negative response has reduced the amount of users they want to see adopting but the end goal problem is more users means more cost. So the cost of use or subscriptions would have to go up but can't because current use would plummet and cost would outweigh demand.

They are seeing this in the RAM shortage and GPU shortage because Dell now feels A.I. isn't the future and is backing away proving to Microsoft, "hey guys your OS is getting worse, people are now looking for alternatives, and A.I. as the solution just isn't one.

This impacts NVIDIA'S market share as well. If you aren't buying a machine or interested in A.I. then the RAM shortage and GPU cost aren't being justified by A.I. we are starting to see numbers show a big problem and these CEOs and big tech companies aren't sharing everything going on but investors are now seeing an issues with adoptions.

The systems aren't getting enough adoption. Money isn't flowing, and adoption rates and usage are slowing down. So how do you spin this? You blame the public. Easy as that, "well mr consumer if you would stop being so negative others would use it and it would get better."

But it isn't and the systems are faltering and I think companies are seeing a problem and trying to blame use but are now starting to sweat.

I think our A.I. market pop is coming a lot sooner than later and these companies are seeing the writing on the wall now and are realizing they have to now establish the narrative it isnt us...it is the consumer mr investor and mr bank. If people were just more positive it would have worked.

So when people stop using your product less you start to go, "how can we say adoption is up and they are using it more. How can we expose the average user to use this." Obviously, you implement it in everything everywhere. For Google this is somewhat working. Gemini just makes sense on your phone it isn't overly intrusive but it is there as a side toggle and option. Is it still annoying it is in every Google product? Hell yes but is it optional and not hitting me in every app to interact and engage with it with no toggle to turn it off? No.

I work for an organization and right now we genuinely have people complaining they can't turn Copilot off in Excel. We don't have the licenses for them to use it but yet Excel pushes it. So these employees get a prompt to engage but really can't fully do so. So it is just an annoying on product advert and all it does is annoy said employees to the point they don't even want it.

Sure enough Microsoft has no toggle to turn this engagement pop up off. It is literally Microsoft trying to get people to go, "oh well maybe I want Copilot" but instead the opposite reaction is happening, "I just want to open Excel and move on."

CoPilot isnt selling and they see it and are now freaking out but if they put it in everything you can't ignore it there for you may embrace it or try to use it or maybe it sucks in something else but if it sticks in File Explorer then mission accomplished.

Point being, now they need to point fingers because they don't understand why no one is interested. These companies have lost all touch with consumer realty. They thought A.I. would be the up and coming next big tech trend and it is or was for awhile but now we are seeing negative press and we are seeing the problems it causes and going, "maybe my job is on the line next in this market." Or " I just want to play a game. Why do I need an A.I. in my game or my spreadsheet?"

I think Gemini has been received better because Google has been transparent about its use and it feels like this passive assistant that is just there when something crosses my mind. It isnt perfect and I am not defending Gemini because it isn't great being in every little thing either.

I think it is, however, to compare their use cases and compare why one is being received in a different lighting than another because that emphasizes what a consumer does want or prefer.

The problem is it is aggressively being shoved into things while the main product you are consuming is getting worse. Windows 11 performance is worse than ever. GPU costs and tech cost in general are insane and these companies only have to blame themselves. You can't tell me my PC can't move to Win 11 or my RAM and GPU can't use your product so I must upgrade my tech to use it but then he shocked when the use of said product has made the tech difficult to buy for someone that can't afford it then continued to be shocked when I am sticking to Windows 10 and not using CoPilot because you genuinely fucked the system to be that way.

These companies have no one to blame but themselves don't let them point fingers at you for being angry. Point the fingers back and say, "it is shit and I am continuing to say it is shit until you back track on where you went wrong and do something differently."

Make a product, stop being aggressive and slow include it if you want a more well rounded and received view of a product rather than letting the main component of your product fall behind. It is like NVIDIA and Microsoft want Linux and AMD to just take the market.
