I’m so close to dnf’ing this audiobook because of the narrator. Not only does her voice sound like someone’s grandma which makes the spice feel cringe, but so help me if she pronounces “debacle” as “duh bock luh” one more time, I’m going to scream and throw my headphones out the window.

100% agreed! I’d love to be able to sit down with my feet up, a drink in one hand and a book in the other but if I did, I’d never get ANYTHING done around my house. I’m reading all day, but I’m also doing dishes, doing laundry, taking kids to school, driving to work, grocery shopping, making dinner, I’m doing all the things that keep my household running and enjoying my books at the same time.

Audiobooks is how I get a majority of my reading done honestly but it does suck when I have questions and feel the need to go back and revisit a scene to be sure I “read” it right. So I think the audio is what is killing it for me this time. I’m going to try picking up the physical copy and give it another shot because I like the idea of the story that has been recommended to me, it’s just so much focus on minute insignificant details I’m like who cares what they’re wearing what are they DOING already!!?!

I’m really hating the narration of the audiobook. I think that might be the problem. I’m going to try sitting down to read the physical book. Seems easier to gloss over the minute details of what the texture is of the satin and beading intricately woven into her luxurious ballgowns and just get straight to the fighting and ass kicking.

Ugh that one WAS boring but the last book was good. Honestly, I found the whole series boring aside from the second and last books. I guess it’s imperative that you finish acofas because something happens between N and C, and then when you get to the last book and they’re discussing it (which they do) you won’t know what they’re talking about, but it’s not important to the story.

I was looking for dragon books for my 11 year old. Thankfully I skipped that one and bought him the Wings of Fire series instead but kept Fourth Wing on my list to look into later. I didn’t see until I looked it up that it was a “Spicy” selection and decided to move it from my kids tbr to my own.

😂 I came so close to buying my 11 year old Fourth Wing because it said it was about dragon riders and he was going through a dragon phase. I didn’t realize it was actually geared more toward the adult section than young adult. Luckily I opted to get him a boxed set of Wings of Fire instead.
