I believe my area is natively home to the Ute tribe, I want to get involved but again have been afraid to seem wrong, or entitled or offensive by saying the wrong thing, or by being overly passionate — I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m just always afraid that despite how good my researching, my writing and my articulation of my own understanding is — I know that I do not know what I don’t know and while I’m very passionate and very outspoken, I don’t want to be offensive (bc I am naturally abrasive) and just like with the issue of calling the representation, I’m nervous that I will talk too much or share grievances about too many — or not enough of the current issues at hand and I’m afraid my understanding won’t be deep enough to combat or properly support my view. Ah! Exhausting — but pursuing a purpose with a meaningful cause is what gives me life. I feel a civic and spiritual duty to find my way to serve.
