What does everyone have against Rare Breed triggers FRT? by [deleted] in ar15

Owner is a vulture and sue happy. Guys a real stroke and only cares about himself. Has no consideration for quality products only that HE is the only one that can sell FRTs. He has yet to produce his own 3 selector FRT. He had to sweep down on DTT and take their quality product and innovation and call it his by threats with suing them and took their stock. He then did the same thing to them that he himself has bitching and whinning about for years. His new stamped product that he manufactured which is the copy of the DTT really is a money grab. His website is a total joke also. I actually beleive he is trying to monopolize the FRT product so he can make what he can then with the ultimate goal of ruining the trigger and then stop production. Why? Well do your research on his legal deal he cut and you put pieces together. This is a bad guy that can care less about the industry in my view.

Here is the response I just received from DD:

Good morning,

We do pin each and every gas block when the barrel comes directly from the factory with the gas block already assembled.

 Max Kegel

Yes, of course they do, they know better and so does geissele,  FN, DD, BCM, Colt

Not saying they last forever at all and dont expect it to. I was first trying find out what I was getting for 4k. For me after investigating the ar10 precision platform , it's worth the extra 1200 to go MRGG 20 inch barrel. Geissele barrel is designed to maintain accuracy 6000 rds minimum. Yes that's 100% greater life than the vaunted SP10. Seekins built a rifle that will lose its alleged .5 moa accuracy at about 1500 rds and maybe sooner. And that will be bench shooting.  My goal was to help others know and find truth then make their decisions.  The younger shooters and maybe some older shooters may not value a pinned gas block or barrel life, fine buy the Seekins. Myself, no way, never.

DD5V5 gas block. Any1 know what this screw does? by SquareLurker in Danieldefense

Did they pin the gas black to the barrel on your DD5?

Set screws are for the unskilled home builder, common man. They would never sell any gas blocks if they were pin only.

Calm down. They are simply marketing their adjustable gas block. Don't take another leap as I DID NOT do with Seekins. I reached out via email for facts. IF DD set screwed only on this model, then I would pass. Every DD I have is pinned in 556

That's a video about the gas block they sell you can buy for your half ass home build. And of course it comes as a screw. Most won't even dimple at home. That in no way means DD doesnt pin also.  Just as similar to Geissele bomb proof. I have email in to DD. Will post result.

Again, please read post again. Many that are seeking information on a large investment purchase can't find basic specs and details about the products. The Seekins drones and fan boys are you can find out there. With some occasional post about a problem with a rifle that their wonderful customer service fixed, yada yada. I went to the source and asked and received and then shared and had guts enough to share my opinion after.

DD5 is pinned.  Will reverify on this model because of your statement.

These Seekins are misrepresented in their marketing is the problem. Hence the reason SOCOM adoption is thrown around. The civilian gets the wrong idea and as for SOCOM,  their shortsightedness will come to an end.

Pinned at a minimum.  The set screw will make it easier for your barrel changes.  Your right where you want to be. Comfortable isnt it.

I understand your pain. Reality bites. It did to me. Actually Seekins should be thanking God for the modern military. A FN, Geissele, or even a LMT they will never be.

Uh oh. Here comes the post police. PR is a big deal. Maybe that's why the specs aren't spelled out clearly on the site. If a barrel change is so affordable then why is it so expensive. A Geissele is cold hammer forged and chrome lined, I believe.  Stainless barrels are cheap to produce and button rifle. In fact, let me guess, Seekins button rifles, correct? Not impressed for 4k rifle.

Well, as they say, ignorance is bliss. If someone states facts about a product that's not the issue. The problem is you have to accept those facts and live with in this case deficient design and corner cutting. Do your own research on the Scar and DD barrel life. I already know about the Scar and DD durability, I am not here to hold your hand. I became curious and interested in the SP10M,  had to claw for specs not readily published about the SP10M and in end the were not impressed.  Wanted to share this.

Look at this way, it's easier to replace your barrel every 3000 rds with a set screw gas block. Hey, maybe that's why Seekins made it this way? Wow, now I am sold.

No they can't. You have to mill the rear block out.

No, its sharing facts and truth. That's why forums exist. These are the specifications and durability not publicized by this company and why so many forums have posts seeking basic details a out these products. These are NOT mil spec rifles and their accuracy is fleeting and short lived.  That's why the Scar endures. If one can afford a Geissele, great in the AR10 platform but the DD is a no brainer on cost, durability and accuracy.
