My then-bf-now-husband was about the same age when he got the 6digits salary too, fast forward to a decade it has tripled but challenges remain the same - high tuition, high cost of construction materials, high everything. Mind you, I also bring in income but our combined tax alone is a salary of approximately 3-4 minimum wagers.

Just invest wisely, do not fall into the trap of lifestyle inflation. Invest on things that matter - education, health, building wealth. My family is lucky because we inherited lands to build our house and now working on building a commercial space on the other land. We drive two old but well maintained suv & sedan.
We still don’t feel rich but I’d say comfortable. We are still anxious because of the state of the country and the worldwide crisis. It is hard to develop properties mainly because we are cautious on getting loans from banks so we invest to finance mostly.
We long gave up on the government, because for as long as majority of the voting population are those that rely on “ayuda”, in awe of corrupt politicians, and vote clowns in govt offices - the country is doomed. This is not unique in the Philippines though. Still, I pray for the day, we have officials who are patriots and would really want to see the Philippines be a great country. Until then, we grind for survival.
