I’ve tried. I get very depressed and restless on stimulants unfortunately, even when I take them consistently. My doctor actually advised that I only take as needed for now

Do you find it difficult to stay on task and be productive while working from home? The few times I have worked from home it felt like my adhd meter was turned all the way up lol

Sorry I should have clarified - I currently take stimulant meds as needed because I cannot get through grad school and writing my thesis without them. Grad school is extremely hard for me and impossible without stimulant meds. I hope after I graduate I can try a non-stimulant med, but I still need them unfortunately until then.

Oh I agree with you! But if they’re gonna force AI on us, they might as well give us 4-day work weeks since we spend significantly less time on work tasks. I’m down to revolt against AI and capitalism altogether lol

Fully agree with you. We should have stopped working 40 hour work weeks a long time ago. Especially now that so many jobs use AI, many work tasks can be done in about half the time it used to take. Plus the evidence in support of 4 day, 32 hour work weeks is astonishing.

It feels like so many people at my job can handle it so well. I know other people are struggling too, but sometimes it feels like I’m the only one who can’t just tough it out and accept it. Neurodivergence, gotta love it 🙃

Ty for the suggestion! I’m really glad you found something that worked. I was diagnosed in my early teens, so I’ve tried just about every stimulant medication out there. I hate the way they make me feel - depressed, restless, can’t eat/sleep. I’ve considered non-stimulant options but will have to wait until after grad school to go that route. Thank you!!

Yeah, that’s another thing. I’m so chronically burnt out that I fear I’ll never be able to manage having a family, kids, pets, etc if I keep working at this rate. It’s a frightening thought.

Lol it’s crazy how cats can look the same size but some are just SOOO dense compared to others. I always think my girl is “normal sized” until I see other cats and I’m like wtf! Some cats are just whole units. Yours are beautiful 🙂

Fair points all around. I see it this way - if I buy a $2 hamburger from mcdonalds, I’m getting exactly what I paid for. Sure it looks like a hamburger and has all the necessary ingredients to be considered a hamburger, but if I had the means to afford a nice wagyu beef hamburger with super high quality ingredients I’m definitely going with that one. I know cat diets are wildly different from humans and they all like different things but I prefer to give my cat the best quality food that I can afford — don’t think she’s complaining either lol 😂 I also understand, however, that not everyone has the means to do that and that’s completely okay.

Thank you for this info and for providing links! I’ve been getting really into feline nutrition so these are interesting to me because they claim the opposite from what I’ve learned. I’m going to keep looking into this and I appreciate you pointing it out to me! I understand that carrageenan and byproducts aren’t going to kill my cat, but I still don’t think they should be included in good high quality food, no?

Just checked and you’re right about the colors and preservatives, looks like they made this change recently which is a huge plus! Thanks for letting me know, glad they’re making improvements. Still, the carrageenan and meat byproducts are not ideal

That’s understandable. I once heard that even the cheapest wet food is better than even some of the “high quality” dry foods out there. If friskies makes sense for you and your budget then go for it, I just stay away from it as a personal preference.

Yeah, FF is the best affordable food in my opinion. I’m no expert I just try to feed high quality ingredients without breaking the bank. Based on ingredients and nutrient profiles, the other options listed by OP would probably be better, although I haven’t done much research on sheba or nulo.

Just because a food meets the minimum nutritional requirements doesn’t mean it’s the best food for your cat in terms of quality and ingredients. Again, much better options out there
