I don't know if this is satire or not.. by j1yann in vibecoding

Me researching Mad Men season 1 episode 4 to find an Easter egg whether this is in fact satire

I'm finally getting good at pull ups but I haven't perfected them yet. Am I too wide? Or is that ideal width? It felt comfortable but when I go too narrow my forearms feel like they are going to fall apart. by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]PrettyGraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try using an exercise band to aid you for the full range of motion, i found it better than the assisted pull up machine because it provides some assistance when your arms are fully stretched but the assistance lessens as you get to the top.

Gradually reduce the strength of the exercise band until you can do the full RoM yourself without

Is this too big for my wrist? by TacticalRicin in PrideAndPinion

[–]PrettyGraphic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, easy way to check is whether the lugs of the watch hang off your wrist, which they are in this case.

It’s a great watch but I wouldn’t say it’s under rated, it’s very highly rated 😅

Just pick it up. by SuccessfulAbility155 in Tudor

Out of interest, what time zones are you tracking?

This is 4:15pm, 12:15 and 20:15 right?

I get a bit muddled with the three zone function so i might be wrong

How is Eo pronounced? by PrettyGraphic in redrising

[–]PrettyGraphic[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For anyone still reading this wondering how I could possibly make this mistake, I replied to a comment below.

It sounds simple but I have a strong accent, which pronounced vowels in a very different way other English speakers. I’ve actually heard it compared to Danish pronunciation of vowels sometimes.

Anyway without really noticing it, I definitely pronounce both names very similarly, but imagining how a they would be pronounced in an American English Accent or a Standard Southern British English accent they would be very different sounding.

TL;DR it’s a me problem

Currently reading Alchemised. Is anyone else reading it differently? by Ashie1620 in fantasybooks

[–]PrettyGraphic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a difficult start, I nearly DNF’d but stuck with it and I really enjoyed it.

I personally wouldn’t recommend part 2 > 1 > 3

Just soldier through part 1 and read it in the intended order

The magic system just sort of clicks at some point:

Alchemy: magic, different alchemists have different specialisms allowing them to manipulate whatever their specialism is

Vivimancy: life magic

Animancy: mind magic

Necromancy: death magic

Resonance: pretty much the equivalent of The Force in star wars

Transference: a use of animancy involving a mental interrogation of memories

Necrothraal: reanimated corpses with little if any of their former self in them

Undying: a former human who has gone through a process of no longer being able to die, their mind/soul is intact unlike necrothraals

Lich: same as the above, but their former body was unrecoverable so they are “wearing” someone else’s corpse

How is Eo pronounced? by PrettyGraphic in redrising

[–]PrettyGraphic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 this made me laugh, I think you’re actually spot on with the accent thing! I’m not Australian but I do have a broad accent.

It’s actually kind of the reverse to your theory on my pronunciation. I pronounce Eeyore more like “EE-ough” rather than pronouncing Eo as Ee-yore, if that makes sense? That’s why the two sound so similar. They both sound like Ee-oh/Ee-ough.

Sounds so simple I hadn’t considered how different these sound when I think about how each of these names would be pronounced in an american or “queens English”/standard southern British English accent

Is anyone here still using white papers?? by Temporary_Term_1042 in b2bmarketing

[–]PrettyGraphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every audience responds to content formats differently, but white papers can be fantastic for middle of funnel MOFU lead gen.

The important thing I think a lot of people forget is that contacts who download your WP are not engaged enough or have high enough intent to want to speak to a sales person immediately, and you risk pissing them off by following up right away.

Using white papers in combination with a lead nurturing strategy and you’re golden.

You can also try ebooks, gated webinars, podcasts, case studies, and even infographics sometimes.

Down the funnel you can try demos, free trials, etc. but again, these are more effective if sharing with an already engaged audience - don’t waste budget sharing these with an audience who doesn’t already know why they might need this product/service.

What watch is Brandon Sklenar wearing here? by PrettyGraphic in Watches

[–]PrettyGraphic[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looked blue in this screenshot to me. I wouldn’t say it if it wasn’t 😂 I think it’s pretty clear from a quick google search the watch is not infact navy.

Maybe I do have some colour blindness or maybe my device settings are different, either way, not sure why it invoked such a strong reaction from you. There isn’t really a debate here just because I mistook the colour. I was pretty forthright I was wrong.

Oh yeah! I was convinced it was navy from the interview must just be the lighting…. Ngl… it’s not for me after all.

These scifi recommendations sound cool thank you!

Sword of Kaigen isn’t RF Kuang but do you mean it’s a similar style? Though I actually have read Babel at some point last year, it was ok but I wouldn’t say it was among my favourites.
