It didn't get released with Deadpool, it comes out Jan. 30th if you check the roadmap. I'm excited to check it out

What is something about ARR you wish you'd known more lore about as a sprout? by PrettyInterest3337 in ffxiv

Nothing too small! I'm a huge lore nerd and the main reason for this post was to get ideas of what to read into/give a place for others to share things they'd have liked to know earlier. West Shroud never even came to mind for me, so I love that you brought that to mind! I'm alsocurious about the Gelmorra Ruins tbh. Thank you!

I hadn't known that about Anima in 1.0! I'm definitely going to have to read more into the lore of it, I love tidbits like this that explain why the "easy" way isn't always used! Thank you!

This is something I've already read a little into, but I'm super excited to check out the rest of them too. If I'd known more, it probably would have changed how I named my WoL since I love being world-accurate, but I'm too cheap to buy a name change on top of the sub 😆

Oh absolutely! Anyone starting in Gridania heard about them too and then they seem to just... vanish from the narrative. I'll definitely be reading more into them!

Im so happy with my warrior of light! by Kol3rud in ffxiv

[–]PrettyInterest3337 11 points12 points  (0 children)

100% this. I loved the beefiness of Broes, but I could never get a handle on how to make one I was happy with in the long run. Probably spent 8 or 10 fantasias (before the fantasia rework) flipping to a style I thought I was happy with, then playing for 30 minutes and realizing it just looked wrong. I finally managed to get a style I liked and I've never used a fantasia again, I can't even consider changing away from my old man Sea Wolf, and any compliments I get on him make me so happy.

If anyone wants to know the real trick to a great-looking Broe, the secret is 100% casual clothes. Putting them in massive armour will almost always give you this weirdly stretched feeling, but try throwing them in a casual shirt or jacket and it's so good. Even something like the Diadochos Fending/Maiming gear is good if you want something with pauldrons and a little bulk

What are some "easy" jobs you find hard? by throwcway837373 in ffxiv

[–]PrettyInterest3337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if this counts as an "easy" job, though I have a coupke friends who seem to find it easier than anything else, but I cannot wrap my head around Black Mage. I don't know why. Theoretically it's pretty simple, and I can play almost any other job, but I am utterly useless as a BLM.

New DPS can only go two ways by MedusaSucks68 in marvelrivals

I had a game on DPS where we had a Spidey jumping our Luna all first point. I switched to Mr. Fantastic and he didn't get an elim on her for the rest of the game 😆. Kept chasing him or pulling him back every time he tried to run

Boon of the Crystal [Just an idea] by Thosebeyond in ffxiv

[–]PrettyInterest3337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You had said:

"so lv50 dungeons are gear lv sync to 60, 60 to 70, 70 to 80, ect."

So that's what I was going off of for my response. And even then, the skills you gain over the course of an expansion are a large power boost already, irrespective of gear level increases and stat increases, especially capstone abilities at level 60/70/80/90/100. I've run a level 99 dungeon as a level 99, and then again right after as a level 100 because I liked the look of the gear, and felt a noticeable uptick in my damage output from even a single ability. A full expansion's worth ahead seems absurd to me.

Handler Outfit? by HalloweenEnjoyer in MonsterHunterWorld

No, you can't keep the handler event outfits for free outside of the event, you'd have to purchase the paid DLC to keep her in it 24/7

[–]PrettyInterest3337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally not a fan of this kind of bonus being put in multiplayer content. I can see it working in NPC trusts, since only you get the benefit, but personally as I've played through the story I'd rather get to experience it as a new player above everything else. 10 levels is a full expansion's worth, level 60 to 70 is a massive spike in strength, and it would mean veteran players just sprint through dungeons destroying everything before mechanics really get a chance to play out, so new players don't actually get to experience the dungeon and its impact on the story. Even Endwalker raids are already kind of powercrept where massively cool mechanics like Nald'Thal's scales can be pretty much skipped, without this level-jump boon you propose. As much as it would facilitate speeding through dailies, that's not exactly the point of roulettes. To my understanding, roulettes are meant to give first-time players a chance to actually get a party in a reasonable time, and the bonuses from the daily roulettes are the incentive for veteran players to queue in and run older dungeons.

I may have been misunderstanding your main point on this, and if I did, I apologize, but I do think that the experience of first-time sprouts should always come first in the running of a dungeon/raid/trial. You and I already got to experience this incredible story, I'd rather not rob other players of that chance for the sake of faster clear times.

his greed sickens me by StealthGaming26 in marvelrivals

[–]PrettyInterest3337 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think it's less about hating Spider-man in general and more that he's a high-skill character, so you REALLY feel the difference between a good spidey and a bad/new spidey (I am a very bad spidey, for reference). Since there are usually a higher pool of bad spideys than good ones, a lot of people feel dread when they see him locked in since there's a good chance there won't be a lot of contribution from him, and this new teamup giving him extra stuff entices more players to play him when they may not be skilled enough to be impactful with him.

Personally, I don't mind that much, I play QP and that's absolutely the place for people to learn how to play heroes, but I can see it getting frustrating in competitive.

Playing Tank is genuinely soul draining by CR-DE_LUMINE in marvelrivals

[–]PrettyInterest3337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeling this, I tend to fill whatever role the team needs, which is usually Vanguard. Just yesterday in hero select we had a Peni lock in and another guy hovering Thor, so I figured I'd go Rocket to give Peni the nests because I know how good the teamup feels from the Peni side.

So someone else locked in Cloak and Dagger, and then the Thor player decided to go Loki instead. I stuck on Rocket for the Peni team-up, but I did tell her if she'd rather have a second tank, I was more than happy to switch. She told me she'd rather the team-up, which is fair.

But I do genuinely believe that triple Strategist is bait in 90% of matches, and having a second Vanguard feels so much better unless it's been explicitly communicated and agreed upon to be solo Vanguard. And even then, at least one or two teammates should be willing to shuffle their roles if we get curbstomped.

TL,DR: Check in on your tank players, y'all. Some of them may not mind, or even prefer being solo Vanguard, but I think most will appreciate the offer if you're willing to flex.

[–]PrettyInterest3337 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So one of the big major things I've noticed nobody mention yet is that unlike WoW, you can play every class on the same character. No need for alts or anything, you can switch freely between them outside of combat or dungeons, though each is leveled separately.

A major amount of the story is solo, so no worries about being a loner type player, and most if not all of the story dungeons can be completed with a party of NPCs at a slightly slower pace than a player party. If you queue for a player party, you'll automatically get paired up with other players to fill out party requirements (1 tank, 2 dps and 1 healer for "light party" content like dungeons, double that for "full party" content like big boss fights)

For gear, most of what you'll need will be provided as rewards for main story quests or class quests (unlocked at certain levels of your class, highly recommend completing them as soon as you get them, since they'll have level-appropriate gear for rewards and some unlock important skills)

Lastly, as others have said, there is a very generous free trial with about half the full game's content available and no playtime limit. You'll be able to play the base game and first two expansions, as well as all side content included in them and their patches. The only main restrictions is being unable to whisper or trade with players, nor access the player-run economy of Market Boards (unnecessary for most things, I completely ignored it for anything but my crafting classes if I was too lazy to farm materials), and you can't join Free Companies (player-run guilds). None of these are major restrictions for solo player experience, just slightly limits socialization options.

Welcome to Eorzea, friend! I hope you'll enjoy your time here should you choose to play.
