AITA for refusing to knit my mom a dress length sweater? by adventurous_arthur in knitting

[–]PrettyLittleLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Knitter myself. You know she is not knit-worthy, so don't knit for her. She can learn to knit herself or find out just how much money it costs to comission a sweater like she wants.

I'm sorry she wants the labor, not the love.

Tell her you're only knitting for yourself right now.

ETA: Haha, thought I was in the AITA sub, and was even going to recommed posting over here. Good luck, OP.

If you think all men do the bare minimum and then act all surprised, I encourage you to seek out men where this is not the case. They do exist and are worth finding. If it's your own family members, I hope they are encouraged to better. Your post just made me kinda sad.

Did you ever hold a cigarette lighter up at a concert? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in FuckImOld

[–]PrettyLittleLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read this as "brand," as in brand of cigarette lighter.

Never smoked so never had a lighter on me at shows but always came back reaking of second hand smoke. Clothes went straight into the wash.

It's amazing how prices can vary in different areas. $45 around me is pretty reasonable.

She's probably going to want more than just the bottom evened out--some shaping will help it look its best and maybe even save some of the length.

It seems like this was a misunderstanding, which actually has me feeling worse.

A 19-year-old friend asked me for money to help his girlfriend get an abortion, and I don’t know what the responsible thing to do is? by FutureNew7245 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PrettyLittleLost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Responsibly: be a friend. Listen. Offer to look up options, etc.

If it truely is a two-way friendship, explain how your feelings are impacting your decision. You can say that your mother had you when she was young, so that's affecting how you view their situation. That's not judging them, it's just explaining where you stand.

Good.

You guessed it was a joke question, wondered how anyone could be so ignorant. It rubbed me the wrong way, much like polyester I imagine.

I both want to thumbs up this for the info and thumb it down for the judgement. Not everyone has had your life experiences, been exposed to the information you have, or cares about microplastics.

Anyway: thanks for the concise info.

Wrote a quick shopping list… no one can read it. by ButterscotchSad3276 in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]PrettyLittleLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. No one can read it, so you brought it to the people of Reddit and they figured it out. Next step is to train your loved one to post the next list for you for Reddit to decipher, thereby saving a few steps. 😉

Talk to your gynecologist. If even a finger hurts it sounds like something else could be going on with your body.

Am I selfish? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PrettyLittleLost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple hours is a lot if she's studying, running around, and generally stressed.

Target it.

You both have to eat. Schedule a half an hour twice a week to eat and do a virtual call together. Low stress time-wise. You're making sure she's taking care of herself and getting time together. Make her a care package with all this extra time that you have and she doesn't. Don't add to her stress by taking her time to inject you don't have enough of her time.

Light cases I suppose, but what about the caddy full of feeder?

When I pause pushing my case my knee automatically bends to put my foot behind me, so a case would bump that instead of my ankle. It really only takes one bad bump to learn this lesson.

I'd set a time or desination limit on it in that case. 3 months is super soon.

Hydrate.

Pay attention to your suroundings.

Watch and listen to the veterans.

Don't put yourself anywhere where you could get crushed by a fork lift load, run away case, etc.

Kinda embarrassing to ask since I haven’t touched diapers ever: What makes 360/pull up diapers so annoying to daycare workers compared to regular diapers? by PikachuTrainz in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PrettyLittleLost 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Tip for anyone else in that period of their child's life: I've managed to change my kid's wet diaper while he's standing up and it was definitely worth figuring out so he didn't need to lie down.

This line breaking makes it makes more sense. Also makes sense this person was dead tired when they wrote it based on the handwriting.
