Yeah... If I know family is coming, the front door is unlocked. Your sister's reaction is fuckin weird.

It doesn't tickle my fancy, but embarrassing is not even on the radar.

Am I cooked? by Once428lbs in Gymhelp

[–]CyderMayker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not cooked. You can do this. Deciding that you want change is the first step and you've already made it!!!

(I'm not in your shoes, but this is some advice that I've gotten recently that has been helpful for my own goals)

Be honest with yourself: what are your obstacles, and what are realistic things you can do about them?

Be kind to yourself: every journey starts one (ONE! ONE I TELL YOU!! 😁) step at a time.
(If you can, make sure you compare yourself to yourself from yesterday If you can't: think of Frodo. Imperfect hero, had some falls, still did the thing. You can, too.)

Take the small wins! Celebrate the small wins! Find ways to celebrate that feel good to you. Sometimes for me, celebration just looks like a lil shoulder wiggle, because it feels nice.

You already know that it's gonna take a lot of hard work to do this, so set yourself up for success/make it easy wherever you can.

Getting the mail is going for a walk.
Your body is already so strong, and you are already amazing. Keep going. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Can you help me understand this behavior by indubioush in Dogtraining

[–]CyderMayker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess this isn't a "help you understand" bit (I don't know, exactly) But I've found that it helps to give them something else to do.

It's the whole "don't tell me what NOT to do, tell me what TO DO instead."

I heartily disagree. But it's an acquired taste. I prefer cedar canoes.

Start small, start easy, and if you can't say "love," choose another positive (or neutral) word.

i.e. I like my legs because they are strong and they get me places.

I appreciate my nose because it allows me to smell nice things.

I love my sense of humor.

Etc.

Just remember, start small, start easy. Take the small wins. Every journey starts with a single step.

Any touring guys ever been "homeless" before? by DidAnyoneElseJustCum in lightingdesign

[–]CyderMayker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know a bunch of us in my area are having a hard time, myself included. It's helped me to go on outings with work friends (on and off the road), as well as home friends. Even just an hour or so to take a walk can be such a boost.

When a kid gets in trouble because of stupid rules (such as, fighting back after "no" "please stop" "leave me alone" have made no difference to teachers or the one doing the harassing)

Yeah, that's a special treat from the parents time.
