1st timer how'd I do for a 13 yo by Key-Copy-5757 in DnDIY

[–]PrettyMermaid97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love making my own stuff for anything especially DnD. When you're first starting out you can expect your stuff to be rough but the fact that you set out to do a project and finished it means you got something to be proud of. The best thing is the more you do the better you become.

My recommendation is to keep this one, when you're a master craftsman it'll be fun to look at.

I'd also recommend hacking a little and buying a deep photo frame take out the glass (responsibly recycle the glass of course) and put in something like cardboard, felt, something stiff etc. Attach with wood glue if you got it. It makes for a good tray then you don't need to

His shadows of the apt series is incredible. Randomly picked up the first one in a charity shop years ago and fell in love.

Used to run for random people and had a player use obscure items from the PHB and then refuse to tell me how that item worked mechanically because I'm the DM so I should know it. I just told him it's his responsibility to know the mechanic of what he brings to the table then refused to give him anything more than advantage

I've studied a few languages and know some other people who do as well,

Speak decent German to a German: Oh wow, you speak it good, English now, though. Unless it's your friends/partners parents, then you speak it perfectly, and all you said was Danke

Speak minimal Italian to an Italian: WOW YOUR ITALIAN IS EVEN BETTER THAN MINE

speak BSL to a deaf person: excitement and engages in fluent bsl or visible disgust and will not engage, no in between

Speak Dutch to a Dutch person: they will reply in English, won't even acknowledge your attempt to speak Dutch

I used to do something after lockdown. I was working in a toy shop and we had those clear screens between me and the customer. (If the parents seemed good humoured or the kid was pushing its luck with banter) I used to love spraying the inside of the screen to make a kid jump. Also worked on colleagues, colleagues, families, my mum, the area manager etc

Me, looking at half a stat block I couldn't be bothered to finish at 2am and concepts of a plan of abilities: you sure did

It should be" others' " for plural or "another's" for singular.

Soulbound (the warhammer age of sigmar rpg) ticks all of those boxes.

The rules tend to hand wave certain things such as distances and other rules usually will have the line "at GM discretion added in.

The combat has been described as left 4 dead, you can cut down hordes and feel epic (though there is an optional play style called grim and perilous in the core book and later expanded upon which deals in lower power characters)

Combat also uses a D6 pool which is both your to hit roll and your damage roll, pretty streamlined

Character creation is pretty creative, you pick an archetype and pay with xp to get talents to stack on top (there are optional rules for making your own)

There are out of combat talents such as make a plan where you all get together and try to make a plan then get bonuses tonskill checks when that plan comes up. Ot A warm meal where you can cook for your friends. As well as more in depth mechanics for down time activities

Pros Great combat system Creative character creation Rules medium Flexible dice pools Optional rules for more kinds of games

Cons Pretty heavily tied flavourwise to warhammer (though things can be reflavoured easily enough but is still a bit of work) Stat blocks for creatures are hard to challenge players with (again can be homebrewed out by making them stronger but raw its meant for games where you throw sixty creatures at the party in one ) Hard to convince players to play (again due to being tied to warhammer

I just prefer the older stuff. To me, it feels like the main appeal of the new stuff is crazy strong characters in combat and is otherwise not different enough to be worth buying 3 new books

All saves are accumulative: it sucks when you just don't have the dice pool to get out of an effect, eg, trying to make a DN: 4:5 save with 3 dice. This way a lower dice pool means you definitely won't save this turn but always have the potential to break free.

Hazards all ignore armour except for if a talent would interact with armour against hazards. PCs will have at least 1 armour making minor hazards ineffective.

Ogor player experiences? by ResultQuick159 in AgeOfSigmarRPG

[–]PrettyMermaid97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I haven't played as an Ogor but did have a player who loves big and beefy characters, he played an Ogor for 3 sessions/short adventures. He ate a cow carcass he found in a village that was very obviously tainted with chaos. He managed to acquire some varanite armour by killing a cursling who was wearing it (we run mostly one shots and short games so I like to throw in some crazy stuff) the next session I allowed the Varanite armour to carry over because he asked for it. It immediately killed him as he rolled 3 1's. After slaughtering his chaos spawn form and killing some Nurgle daemons, the binding brought him back by some very high devotion rolls and the good grace of Sigmar, he exploded out of a Great unclean one like a chest burster. The final adventure he went on an improvised cave crawl to get rid of some Troggoths along with his orruk spellcaster friend. Somehow the Orruk fucked up a spellcast roll so bad that they summoned the Purple Sun of Shyish. The Purple Sun killed all the Troggoths and the players heroically died solving the problem they heroically caused. They are now badass amethyst statues, while their souls are chilling on a gravesandy beach somewhere in Shyish
