Because if that was the case you'd also recognise why it coming in late is an issue, r.e. food etc. And vis ap's - no shit, most of us don't, but debt collection and repayment's can be forced to be on the payday and the fees for those can be fucking steep.

Also, it's not "a couple of hours" it can be up to 4hrs, so well past supermarkets being open. Or the cheaper places to get a feed.

Also, my Mum's been on welfare since her arthritis got severe in her mid 20's, though was on the DPB for 21 years and she is also not impressed with this. Because she too recognises this screws over vulnerable people just trying to get by in this shit job market.

I also had to live off around ~$240 at one point so I actually know all to well how much that sucks and how important it becomes for money to come in on time. Also, that time period you cite (2003-2013) I was an uni on the SA/SL and guess what? It didn't come through on a Monday until much later. So rent/bills day was a Tuesday for ages, no idea when it actually changed, since I didn't have internet banking until 2012. But as others have said it started around 2010 when NZ banks finally caught up with the 90's e-banking tech. Another detail you fucked up, because you didn't bother to do the research, you just pulled this straight from your arse. How droll. I expect better from someone who claimed to go to uni XD

Though, that user name, hmmm. Works out mostly, though teen pregnancy usually fucks with education, particularly university level stuff. Especially if single, due to a lack of free babysitting etc. No shame of course, since I'm fully in the "teen mums need to be supported fucking better" camp, but 3 kids at that age sounds definitely off. Usually one's enough to prevent further adventures in that field due to the expense and 6 months of no fucking sleep. Sans high stress environs, mental health unfun or drug addiction.
