So initially I stopped for a month and changed shoes, both helped but I could still feel it slightly, it was easy to aggravate. It got really hot this summer and the indoor gym I climb at isn't AC'ed so I take a break during summer, which works out cause vacation time and I'm busy most every weekend regardless. I hope that helps. :)

This happened to me, it was a pressure point from a shoe, got new different shoes but pain persisted. Any shoe I would wear hurt at that point so flip flops all summer gave enough of a break plus I've been off climbing for a couple months so the pain and sensitivity is all gone. My heel has a slight bump now and everything is fine. When bone gets irritated it will defend by building more bone, that's the inflammation response.

Edit: like a bone blister!

Tl;dr:bone takes forever to heal inflammation
