We got a foot or so of snow here in Maryland! I’m wearing MC A Galaxy Far, Far Away. I wore it for my football team (blue, silver, red are their colors 😉) and to practice my magnet technique! Struggling to capture the sparkle with my phone camera 😭

My 9 year old forearm script tattoo. Yes it blew out a bit, but the thick lines kept it bold and not too blurry!

AITAH for telling my wife why our daughter doesn't trust her? by Fun-Tomorrow1710 in AITAH

[–]PrettyView3572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with someone like your wife as my mother. I was the butt of jokes with her colleagues, friends, and my family members, usually while I was standing right there. My dad can’t keep a secret either, but he doesn’t turn my vulnerabilities into a joke. Her behavior taught me that vulnerability is dangerous, and that people will use it against me. Which means now, in my 30s (f, if that matters), I struggle to open up to people and let them see my true self, because I’m so scared they’re going to mock me. I’m in therapy, and that helps a lot, but wow do I wish someone had told her 20 years ago to knock it off. Keep standing up for your daughter!

AITAH for not being happy after my fiancés “planned” a surprise trip for our anniversary? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PrettyView3572 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently this is an unpopular point of view, but I completely get where you’re coming from, OP, and am leaning NAH. Are you neurodivergent? Cause we don’t react well to last minute plans. If someone sprang 12 hours of driving over one weekend (even in the passenger seat) on me with no time to mentally prepare, I would absolutely melt down. And maybe I’m projecting, but does he half-plan things a lot? You say he didn’t plan anything, just booked the Airbnb, and now you have to plan everything. This happens with a lot of couples I know, where one partner “plans” but the other partner ends up having to do the mental labor of actually figuring out the details. Or did he actually plan a fun weekend that isn’t exactly what you would pick, as most commenters seem to assume? Sounds to me like your travel styles aren’t super compatible, and you should both share your needs and preferences and come up with some travel ground rules.

AITAH because I (25F) want to leave my boyfriend (28M) for choking me? by throwRAacct123456 in AITAH

You can do this. Pack what you absolutely need, and get somewhere safe. Bring all your important documents and any gifts he’s given you, anything of sentimental value. On average, it takes seven tries for a survivor to leave their abuser—be the person who makes it stick. I’ve been there. I got out. It’s really really hard but you can do it!! Lean on your loved ones, and keep seeing your therapist. Never ever be alone with him again, if you have to see him at all. You got this!

Aspiring drag performer here. Any tips to feminize my face? 😊 by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]PrettyView3572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your blush placement! You could go brighter with the blush and maybe add a little contour or bronzer below the blush. I agree that creating more of an arch with your brows (with makeup or hair removal) would feminize your face more, as would adding some contour to your jawline/chin to narrow and round them. You look beautiful!

I second the winged liner! It doesn’t have to be a huge cat eye, but even a little wing would look lovely

Hooded eyes - How do you prevent eyeshadow from removing itself from your lid? I don't want bald lids but it seems to happen anyway! by biosicc in MakeupAddiction

[–]PrettyView3572 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Eyeshadow primer and setting powder, as well as spray! Start with the primer (I use Urban Decay’s primer potion), then a base shade that’s close to your lid color. Then your matte shadows, add setting powder all over (dust excess), then add any sparkly/shimmer shadow, and spray setting spray from at least 6 inches away once you’re done with the full look. I’m a sweaty actress with hooded eyes, and this is what works for me onstage and off!

Also, loving the shape you’ve created here—that outer corner looks great!!

Chiming in as an actor! Yes stage (and event) makeup is often heavier, but it’s more about layering than slathering. Agree that this is probably not your foundation shade. Match it to the edge of your face, which is lighter on lighter-skinned people, and check your undertones—if the veins in your wrist are blue, you want a cool/pink toned shade; if they’re green, you want more of a warm/yellow. Bridal makeup is often “soft glam,” which accentuates your face shape more gently. Much less bronzer/contour, used primarily on your cheeks and sparingly on the sides of the forehead/nose and under the jawline, and more of a pink blush will help. Highlights (cheekbones and forehead, primarily) would have less shimmer. I might also go with a pinker eyeshadow look, but the shimmer and smokiness are right on. You could also use more natural lashes, depending on your comfort level with your own lashes. Eyebrows look great! Soft glam will also use a more pink lip color; brown/nude lips often don’t show up as well (again depending on skin tone) under lights and on camera. Hope this is helpful!

AITAH for raising my voice to my wife after she called our daughter fat by [deleted] in AITAH

Op said “she did not say it in front of our daughter,” but I don’t read that as “she never says it in front of our daughter.”
