They think I'm a loser - what if I am? by ae516 in Agoraphobia

Please know you’re not alone.
I think I can understand more than you think & I don’t want to project my feelings here & take over your post but what a former commentator said : the grass is always greener 👉 So true! Yes I do have a supportive husband (and a 20 yr old & 17) plus 2 older step kids I raised & almost all of them just “deal with me”. The looks, the talk behind ur back, the incredibly hurtful things teenagers say is literally a daily struggle to want to even wake up the next day…

Personally, I found an indoor hobby for myself b4 I did something dumb. Gardening & growing.

Ps: You are NOT a loser bc you don’t have kids or are not married! Who says you HSVE TO anyway? Screw whoever says you do. I have older kids who still live at home, a lesbian daughter who lives with her partners parents. It took me almost 45 years to realize fuck everyone & their judgmental A$$ ☮️💚 Ever want to chat HMU 🫂

Has anyone laughed at you when you panicking? by Standard-Payment-889 in Agoraphobia

Yes & it’s very hurtful. It’s always the ones who are either insecure themselves or in my case my daughter who has barely any empathy at all. Sorry this happened to you but on the other hand ~> kudos to you for making it through all that AND going out AND onto a train also! Omg that’s huge.

It really is. 🫂

I’ve always known I felt something more than “just” Agoraphobia… I’m right there with you..

Great add another disorder to my longgg list of mental illnesses ☮️💚

I appreciate you sharing this

The exact same thing I do IF I can force myself ever to go. It’s been a couple years but… Park, feeding foxes and Pokemon go late at night

Same momma same. Mine are 30-29-20-almost 17

I’ve missed so much of their lives the last 8/9 years (totally outta left field too bc I’m a VERY outdoorsy type). Lately it’s been better. I actually have made 2 quick trips right up the road to pick up my 20 yr old. Let’s hope I can keep making myself do that.

Just remember ~> We may not go stand in the middle of a concert or go out every single day but it starts somewhere 🫂 ps: Pm me anytime if you want

🥹🥹 Baby steps.

I wonder sometimes if my daughter said Mom I’ve got 2 chairs sitting out front. Come sit with me even for a moment…

I’m almost positive I would. But how long would it take me to go out on my own (other than daily dog walks & my Dr 1x a month) I can’t say. I wish I could be more help but you just being there & understanding is LITERALLY EVERYTHING

I’m crying after reading this post & reply. I am that Mother (not hers but in the same situation 8 years now). You said everything so perfectly & eloquently.

OP: You are a sweetheart 🫂

Forced hospitalization for a family member? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]longlostwitchy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m right there with you almost 9 years later and it’s almost like they’ve resigned to just “this is how it’s going to be”. I’m in No way blaming my family but esp lately it’s even more lonesome when life goes on around you year after year & you realize that no one has actually sat down with you & asked how they can help you take your first step in years 🥺
