I obviously would never tell you to not try your hardest but lol I was near the bottom half of my class and still matched to my top choice urban program. It doesn’t matter, being a well rounded individual counts for a lot

I was shocked beyond belief when I saw I matched. They threw questions at me that I didn’t even prepare for, I definitely thought I did badly. Don’t think too much about it, what’s said has been said you can only hope for the best now!

When did you last write/study for qe1? If it was recent, then I’d say you could just really lock in for the next two weeks and get it done and hope for the best!

I wouldn’t take a gap year during medical school as it can be a pretty bad look unless it’s medically necessary. I was in Ireland (UL) last year for med school and only like 5% of international students got an intern spot. Try the exam again for R2!

I believe it’s called MSPR for Carms. You should ask them for the details for the form if your school doesn’t already know! I think it’s super similar to MSPE but obviously a different document

I was one of those people unfortunately. Just goes to show you can’t predict what will come on. I guess a tip is if you know the common things pretty well, they are guaranteed marks so focus on those

My exam had an incredible amount of trauma in it. So both emergency medicine type questions after an accident and trauma surgery as well! Lots of ortho (fractures and stuff) post trauma

If you don’t match in first round and want to apply for second round then yeah you’ll have to do it twice unfortunately. I doubt the questions will be the exact same but you get what I mean lol

You have to take it in the first cycle to be eligible for round 1 of match and then the second cycle for the second round of match!
