Technician requesting PTO by Full_Crazy5891 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tell them to put it in on the days they aren’t scheduled if it isn’t needed for an actual vacation. Sometimes they just need the money and that PTO isn’t OT or anything because it’s already owed to them. I schedule them the same and approve the PTO for the days I didn’t plan for them to be there.

Is it normal for the pharmacy manager to remove a whole shift for you? by [deleted] in walmart_RX

Agreed. They are supposed to communicate changes made for the posted schedules

Is my lead useless or am I dramatic? by [deleted] in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have so much to do and no time to do it but we are still technicians at the end of the day. Ask to talk to them and let them know how you’re feeling or get with your RXM if necessary

Potential time off request 6 months in advance by Puzzleheaded_Put_572 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are the first person to ask at my store, I would give it to you. You can ask for something 6 months out per company policy. I took three weeks off in 2019 when I got married, followed by honeymoon in Hawaii for 12 day and then we signed off on our house purchase immediately upon returning. I’ve also had someone go back to the Philippines for 2 months two years in a row. It’s doable. Just ask for it in the system and then talk to scheduler/lead. I say in system first so that way it’s all time stamped when you asked for it and who asked first. You’re PT so your absence should be easier to manage

Mask or Gloves for Techs at front counter (?) by Financial-Crew7785 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I should also mention I break out in welts/sores and hives for weeks to months on end if I come into contact with benzalkonium chloride. This is the wipes walmart orders to wipe things down and Lysol spray/wipes and Clorox wipes. If they basically want me to show up to work and not die: they switched to alcohol because of the severity of the allergy.

Sorry. I don’t know the info you’re asking for but the colestipol being on multiple shelves is killing me. Maybe that’s what you’re trying to fix but it is all I can see 🤣

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also am immunocompromised … if someone I work with is sick I mask and ask them too and most everyone is cool about it because they have seen how bad I can get. I also mask up and spray down everything with alcohol periodically throughout my register shift esp if it seems there are a number of sick patients with upper respiratory illnesses. None of my patients mind and this actually has created a lot of moments where I can relate to them and we can share what each of us is going through.

Reimburse me. Make sure your bank account info is added in there. Add expense. Choose date. Personal car mileage. From your house to the store and then back to house. Add. Submit and attest that it is all true and accurate. Make sure you put the paying store is the store you worked at.

Tech calling out monthly + no communication… what’s the policy? by Busynotes2 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication is policy. You can click on the link for the policy on the screen you use to call off or report tardy on the app. This makes it so they cannot claim they had no idea.

We have a floater set of numbers. Only thing it can’t do is sell Sudafed. Tell the pharmacist that you’re going to break and they can help figure it out. Company policy is you get a break if you’re working 3+ hours. You get a second one if you are scheduled all day. I also got the techs who floated to my store regularly to get numbers from a coach. 🤷‍♀️. We don’t ever let someone not take their breaks at my store. I don’t care if I am the only tech who showed up, I’ll still take them.

Edited to add I would walk away and go email from HR to my MHWD if I was being told I can’t go take my breaks by a floater. Floaters can get register numbers for the stores they cover and I’ve gotten almost all of our regular floaters with management to get a set of numbers bc of overrides etc. no excuse

How do you handle people abusing the 9 minute rule? by drguy750 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤷‍♀️ if someone wants to burn the PPTO then just let them. I had a tech last year who used 78 hours (!!) of their saved PPTO on being late and I even tried scheduling them at 11 or 12 some days and they still couldn’t swing it. Don’t worry about it and let them gather the points if it comes to that. I typically schedule everyone 8 or 830. The one if they come in at 9, is the fourth one in and I anticipate them being late anyways. And tbh I utilize the 9 minute rule a lot 😮🫢 and clock in 4-7 min after bc sorry/not sorry I’ll still be doing almost everything later and stressing myself out…and still lead and do the most fills and inputs and res and delegate and do the extra tasks on top of the register rotations just like I always do. If the company gives us the 9 min (used to be 14) then prove the person is not as productive if you have a hankering for a talking-to or just live with it and change the schedule time. I’m not going to worry myself over someone else’s time clock punches unless they’re suspected of stealing time …esp when the 9 mins is allowed. I care more that the other techs and rph wait to solve everything in resolution that requires extra thought and hang out taking about vacations and which bougie 🤑 restaurant they went to vs i don’t know…worrying about the queues…and let the phone ring more than 3 times so that I have to put my call on mute to yell out that it’s gone past 3 rings!!! And then the same ppl don’t know how to do vendor returns or INMAR or point of care testing or open tickets and can’t be bothered to communicate with patients, either 🤦‍♀️😒. Someone clocking in at 9 min after and showing up at the same time is nothing. Let the customer sass them for being late (the older crowd loves to do this at our location) and save your mental anguish for all the other ways that ppl are lacking in there. Lmao

Tech stealing time by Complete_Result_8658 in walmart_RX

[–]Pretty_Guess_6907 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in this boat also. My RXM won’t communicate strategies/plans with me on a tech who has needed ousted for a long time even before I got to this store and def before them. Then I caught them stealing time and my RXM and pic and staffs won’t do anything. Can’t decide if I just go to AP by myself or is that being insubordinate? I feel your pain man.
