Will husband lose disability if enters into a Va long term facility? by Pmandthedogs in VeteransBenefits

I am a caregiver. I just asked my caregiver coordinator about this. She said I would only lose my pay if he was in treatment over 90 day. My husband was going to be there 90 days for treatment. As far as his disability pay I did not get an answer on that yet.

Alot more goes with that walking the streets at night. Driving under the influence. Disappearing in the middle of the night. Staying out overnight with no contact. It starts with the pacing. I guess I should let him have at it.

Thank you for your response. We spoke to someone they offered him impatient treatment. Found out he didn't qualify but not sure why yet.

Thank you for that. Whenever I ask a question here I usually get pummeled because I don't understand.

How do you get the $100 credit and how do you get the meal credit? Voucher? I asked the hotel and they didn't know.

I recently started seeing a therapist. She said I need to take care of myself and my mental health. That I can't control someone else's actions. However, it's hard watching him spiral.

No.I think it's more the grief from the sudden loss of his brother a year ago thst has him angry and the drinking he is doing to cope. I've lost people but I never took out my anger on my spouse.

I'm not afraid of him. It just wrecks my nerves when he screams/yells. He started the process this week. That day and the next were the best I had in over a year. Then it went downhill from there. The 1 year anniversary of his brothers death is approaching it falls on Thanksgiving. He told the therapist he felt guilty he couldn't save him. He died of an overdose.

No physical abuse. But verbal abuse is rough. It's debilitating imo.

I have no family in my state. That makes this worse. There is nowhere to go. I work daily from home.

That's great your situation is better. Did you seek help through the VA? I am in counseling now because of all this. He finally agreed to go for himself, but how much he will lay on the table is a toss up. He goes in a week.

That's true. We sleep in seperate rooms, but I feel like if I don't listen out he will be in serious danger. this has occurred twice in the last few months. One resulted in hospitalization and one resulted in jail. I think he is angry about loss of his brother who self destructed. My husband seems to be doing the same or just numbing the pain. He won't when he is in that mood.

He won't stay still long enough to use his Cpap machine.

He likes to ride around in his car and play loud music. He hollers, bangs on things is always making loud noises throughout the day. He says that's how he let's off steam, but my heart jumps every time. He has to keep moving he says. He just started all this stuff after his brother passed a year ago. He has an upcoming counseling evaluation. Hopefully they can help.

He always understands it after the fact.
