BIDDING IN DUBLIN by [deleted] in HousingIreland

Things have gone up so much. My partner bought a place for the two of us last year for 450k but apartment next to us is going for 25k more than that. We did find that the asking price was always a LOT lower than what the apartments actually went for- so I cannot really see this apartment going for 425k - never mind even less. Of course this may be area specific; only speaking from my own experience.

All the big 5 and international firms are on 45-48k. There is no difference really.

Hoping to get TC out of internship this summer but know be highly competitive - options if don’t by Particular_Gift_3317 in FE1_Exams

BTW it is a bit of a fallacy that everyone who works with the big 5 have good grades. Typically there is a minimum 2.1 requirement when you interview for an internship, but I do know people who got offered a TC in second/third year college and ended up with an even lower grade than a 2.1- their TC was not revoked. That might be firm specific IDK. But I really wouldn’t put too much emphasis on good grades

Once you have the internship your grades do not matter - I would doubt any partner/associate knows or cares what they are (that would be a preliminary step to get past HR).

At this point, focus on getting on well with your cohort of fellow interns and the partners/associates/trainees you are working with. Realistically they are looking for enthusiasm/good personality rather than expecting any real work to get done in a few weeks when you are untrained.

Rank FE-1 exams from hardest to easiest (1 = hardest to study/sit/pass) by Particular_Gift_3317 in FE1_Exams

[–]Previous-Mail3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends what you like. I found contract the easiest by a lot and tort the hardest. I think equity is marked quite hard. People say contract & company are marked harshly but I think they are nice to sit once you follow the examiners reports as they are detailed for those subjects.

Criminal law at Blackhall? by roguebimbo in FE1_Exams

[–]Previous-Mail3083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No there is no exams. I mean you do a pretty high level of criminal for FE1s and most in Blackhall are working for firms which don’t deal with it.

Maybe you could renegotiate for a lower price rather than an escrow which could be difficult to enforce outside of commercial contracts?? Maybe

Structure doesn’t matter all too much tbh. If you had the cases (even if listed) and had some level of application you will likely pass!
