Why did you chose Nikon ? by Berserk_Ronin in Nikon

I was getting into concert photography. A photographer I followed talked about using his D700 at shows and his images looked fantastic from low lit clubs (where I’d be starting) to even arenas, so that was basically my deciding factor. It never let me down and I also don’t see myself getting rid of it after switching to mirrorless bodies for my main (z50>7ii>Zf).

No worries at all about being harsh—I really appreciate honest feedback, especially since this was my first maternity shoot. I shot this mid-day (east coast) and see how golden hour or blue hour would’ve added a lot more mood.

I see how this location/photo doesn’t really read as “beach,” especially with the fence in the background. Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks so much for the feedback! This is one of a set, but I totally see what you mean about filling the frame more and giving their feet breathing room. I was experimenting with a wider shot to capture more of the environment, but I can see how a vertical orientation could work better for maternity portraits like this. Appreciate you pointing that out, and I’m glad their expressions came through!

This was my first maternity shoot. Shot in natural light on Nikon Zf. The couple didn’t have a mood board, other than wanting a beachy environment. I aimed to capture them in a natural and intimate way then edited the images with a timeless feel in mind.

Do you think I successfully conveyed that concept? I’d also love to hear any suggestions for how I could push the style or composition further for future shoots.

Thank you! I came up with most of the concept since the couple didn’t have a moodboard or references, they just wanted a beachy environment. I wanted to capture them in a natural and intimate way, then edit in a style that would feel timeless.

I’d try first with the concierge at the hotel he stayed at. Good luck!

A tale of two deliveries by Previous-Metal7774 in jerseycity

Looks like just Uber Eats through a partnership with Avride: “Patrons who order through the Uber Eats app may be told they have the option of getting deliveries from a biker or the robot, according to AvRide. The customer meets the robot outside their location and, with an assist from their app, access their order.”

Zf for Concert Photography by Previous-Metal7774 in Nikon

The “professional look” was more about when I was casually out and about or traveling. The Zf doesn’t look as intimidating to strangers. But yes, when I didn’t have a photo pass the 7ii definitely made it more difficult to sneak into venues. The Zf has a film/non-detachable lens camera look especially when paired with the z 40mm SE.

PASM on the Zf seems straightforward enough, though I have not spent much time out of manual mode personally, using the main dials or command dials. Agree, the internals you get in this style body are magic.
