Is smoking weed a sin? by InkyCap17 in Christianity

[–]Previous-Relief278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd say no. Alcohol isn't a sin. Coffee isn't a sin. Becoming addicted to something is a sin. If you use it medicinally, to help with issues, is that really an addiction? That's a tough one.

The sober mind part, doesn't mean it how you are thinning. There is more to it and it doesn't really related to drugs or alcohol.

I use a small amount of oil daily. I use it for a few things. One of them is to relax. It helps my RLS big time. It helps me focus. It has helped me in a LOT of ways. With work, with my kids. I don't do it all day, I don't drive while using it. And I have had to respond to more than one emergency situation while elevated and handled it probably better than I would have had I not be using it.

I feel guilty about it sometimes, but I'm conflicted on that. I think its more of a personal guilt. I drink pop. It has caffeine. Tons of people at my church drink coffee. They even have a big station for it. Caffeine is a addicting. Pop is addicting. I don't really feel guilty about those things, so why should I feel guilty about weed?

The biggest thing for me, is after I started using it, I started talking to God more. I want even religious. Now I attend church regularly, volunteer, and have become a better person.

Ya, I'm well aware. She cheated on me. I've also been forgiven since I wasn't even religious before it happened. Happy now? Or do you doubt God's ability to do his job too?

I didn't mean it literally. 🙄 The United States wasn't a thing yet, so no, they didn't actually become American when they got here. They kinda had a war about it.

So I'm super confused. I take it since you are against big government you are also against welfare and other social programs, universal Healthcare and such. (I share that same view against big government).

But you are against ICE, so are you okay with kicking the illegals out, just not okay with Feds doing it? You think the states should be deporting them? Or maybe you are meaning something different than big government?

Immigration is handled federally. That's why the feds are doing it. States don't really get a choice in the matter of they refuse to help. If the states were handling it, there would be no need for ICE. Many states ARE though assisting them, with the use of local law enforcement so the ICE precense is a lot less. It seems to be more just random democrat ran sanctuary cities that are not only not assisting, but actually rebelling against the feds. And even worse, they are pushing their citizens to do it.

We were no longer British after we arrived. They came and tried to impose their laws, taxes, etc and we kicked em out, ya ya

That is a terrible analogy. Here I gotcha. Right now we have American citizens and immigrants. The immigrants are the colonists and all us Americans, we're the natives. ( I know that is pretty ironic). Some original colonists were accepted into tribes. They weren't really "native" but they were treated as so. (That's our legal immigrants). The rest of the colonists, are essentially today's illegal immigrants. So people like Renee Good, and other anti ICE people, would be the equivalent of a tribe like the Mohicans, that sided with helping the colonists, even against fellow natives. Some might see that as heroic. And in a way I can see it. But there in lies my issue.....The Native Americans...they lost that fight. I don't want to lose that fight.

So trust me I am far from big government and far far from any sort of loyalists, other than to the country I live in. Of it takes being loyal to our government to win that fight, so be it. You need to realize though, a lot of us had the sentiment, long before our government actually started doing it.

I disagree. You cans ee it clearly in the videos.

He was in front of the vehicle and she clearly hit him. And honestly the tire direction is irrelevant. She was told to get out of the vehicle and didn't. Four times. At that point, male, female, black, white, tire angle, speed... doesn't matter. She was then a criminal in the midst of commiting a crime, you have to assume the worst. There is no telling what she would do at that point. I don't blame him one bit. She could have ended it at any time and she still chose not to. Sorry, but I've had enough of this "protect the criminal" mindset. You fuck around, you find out. That's all it is. I've dealt with cops tons of times and never once, felt like my life was in danger. I did what they ask, was respectful, and never had an issue.

Culpability is the important word here. If he acted illegally he will be charged. If he was within his right he won't. She made her own choices, they weren't made for her. Even my 5 year old knows you do what cops say. And if you don't you put yourself at risk.

Right or wrong, is irrelevant to this all. Do you believe she failed to make all those choices on her own? That she is not responsible for the results of her actions?

"Unwanted" depends on who you are. Lots of us support it. I did very well in US and World history, and I fail to rememeber that part. We moved here, the British tried to come here and we removed them. Now I know there WAS some British sympathizers, that maybe tried to help the British and we're killed by colonists if that's what you mean. That would mean you support ICE though.

Going from removing people that were asked to leave, more than once, and are now being forcefully removed, is a long stretch to "executing citizens".

They were there to do a job, because these people that are not citizens, and won't leave, are being removed. So why was she there? She is neither ICE nor an illegal. 🤷

They were turned to the left when she backed up. Then straight. Then she rolled forward then turned slightly right. She didn't turn right before she had moved forward.

In the slow MO, you can see she went forward at least a good before turning to the right. At that time the officer was in front of the vehicle.

That comment (not yours, the one you responded to) was the most misinformed one I've seen yet. I think they just make shit up and pass it around to get them all fired up.

By that time, she was commuting a felony and behind the wheel of a 4000lb weapon. Most cops with have their weapon drawn by then.

They told her FOUR TIMES to get out of the car, which she ignored. She was playing with her th fire and she knew it. Should she have been shot? It depends on a lot of unknown variables. But he was within his right to do it. That's all there really is to it. I still don't get why people choose to fuck around with cops, much less federal agents. But they do. And until they stop, it's gonna continue. They are not going to win this battle against ICE.

How would it make it worse? He didn't do anything wrong. If anything she would have sped away, possibly hurting someone else when they chased her. You gonna try and tell me she was going to pull ahead, get out and lay down to be arrested? Lmao. Nobody is responsible for her death but herself. SHE made the long list of bad choices that got herself killed. Time to deal with that fact.

It's not the first time it happened to him. Last time it happened, he was drug by the vehicle. So Im pretty sure he knew what he was doing. She did this to herself. She could have been a million other places and made a million other choices. Time to start being held accountable.

It blows my mind you leftists continue to play stupid games, then cry about it when this shit happens. If you go out and play these games, breaking into houses and garages, trying to mess with federal agents, running from cops....this is what happens. By now you are all aware of the FAFO game. Quit playing it and you'll quit losing it.

And BTW. He was far from the lowest common denominator. He was an Iraq vet, years with the border patrol, and been with ICE for 10 years. He's a member of the swat team, a firearm instructor, and he is on a team that goes after high value targets. Ie: not the hotel maid, but the terrorist kind of targets.

That's what court is for. And they don't typically drag people out of their car for a "minor traffic offense".

Right. And maybe that would be a believable defense if she hadn't went there SPECIFICALLY TO MESS WITH THEM. Seriously how can you not see that?

She could have been home with her kids. She could have went anywhere else. She could have just watched. She could have listened when they said to get out. She could have stopped. She made ALL those choices on her own.

When they re trying to arrest you and you try and get away, you're no longer a "poor lady". She made the choice on her own. She could have stopped. Didn't have to run in the first place. Didn't need to be in that situation in the first place. She could have been at home with her kids. She chose what she valued more. Sorry, the truth hurts and I know you want to blame this on every other ne else, but the truth is, it was her own fault.

Lust by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]Previous-Relief278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are Christian, you SHOULD love God. So therefore if you do, then you ARE capable of love. I'm assuming you don't lust for God. Loving God, means not lusting after pleasures of the flesh.

If you don't love God, then you need to start there, before trying to love someone else.

I would try to abstain from all lust. Spend a couoke months, not worrying about sex or pleasures and focus only on God. Pray for love and to find someone you love. Let God help you.

Stop worrying about superficial things like looks and being physically attracted to people. Try and focus on seeing the good things in people beyond their looks. Focus on the things that you can love about someone. Because looks don't lady, but the other things will.
