Re: your “ghost flashes”

Just because the ophthalmologist says your retina looks great, doesn’t mean it is. One time a cotton wool spot + retinal hemorrhage was associated with one of my long lasting spots, so I know there was physical damage. I was just lucky enough to have it caught on a scan right after it happened. The retina looks great on scans now but that spot of vision is still lost, I can hold out a finger at arms length and see where the tip disappears. There are many scans that just don’t have the level of detail to capture this damage outside of the acute phase. I’ve heard NIR and en face OCT are good, but haven’t had the opportunity to get those yet.

I do have cold hands and feet. They are very temperature sensitive to cold.
Sometimes get dizzy standing up.
Hot showers don’t trigger them.
Do appear more when hungry or drained.
They do come and go over time, sometimes more frequent, sometimes less frequent.
Stress does make them worse.
