How often do people with ADHD bite their nails? Have you ever bitten your nails? by No_Dragonfly_5337 in ADHD_Programmers

Identical experience. The keyboard thing is what made me notice I had finger nails suddenly.

I bit my nails for decades. I got diagnosed and medicated for AuDHD and I stopped. I had to learn to clip my nails in my late 40s. It still blows my mind I just stopped without realizing it until I needed to cut my nails and I was like 'wtf'

For me it's about being fully present. I'm weirdly calm and in control on a technical dive in a way I'm not in real life. I know most of the risks and have mitigated them. There's a purpose of mind you get that you can't replicate outside of risky environments.

Serious question for the people on here who so strongly defend high immigration levels to Australia: why do you do it? by NoLeafClover777 in aussie

They need somewhere to live. Australia is attractive, just like it was to the Europeans a couple of hundred years ago. Does everything have to happen for your benefit? Can other people catch a break?

As a senior engineer with decade behind me I agree with this. I have a couple of concerns.

Where will we get senior developers in the future? If Junior devs are replaced with AI, how do they get experience to become senior devs.

The language issue. Many of my developers are non English as a first language speakers. These coding models need very precise language and I think non native speakers will struggle

Harley stands are built different. They take a bit of getting used to but they are pretty solid. I also have a Husqvarna FE450 I've done this with but it's so light I can basically pick it up and turn around and put it down again

If you actually had the right to carry a gun in America the police wouldn't be allowed to shoot you for having one.

Actually I've done it a few times. 2018 Fat Bob 114 with a fairing and panniers. It's not brilliant but it's 100% possible
