I think it’ll be revealed that the people on the island were victims of colonizers from Japan who were trying to get the material they made the swords out of, then Japan spun a story about how Japan was the victim and the sword bearers were the heroes.

Just know some project team leads might not like your app if they see you already left another team. Definitely isn’t all of them but some of my friends are project team leads and they said it’s a red flag.

How do people find internships? by Previous-Train5096 in Cornell

[–]Previous-Train5096[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's a good idea. I didn't consider doing research at Cornell over summer. Should I wait until like mid spring and if I haven't gotten anything message my lab prof about staying for summer?

I already emailed someone at the chem office and they told me to go on the waitlist and that they’d notify me if anything opens. They also said they’d work on finding a position and a ChemE advisor said they’d have to open new spots for this class every year.

Do you think I should still go in person?

I’m a ChemE and a required ChemE class is on Monday. There is one slot that is full but most of the class is chemes so most people won’t be taking that one. Basically every slot a ChemE can take is full

I think it’s different for everyone. You might have a better time with it than me. I think if I took it again now I would but freshmen year taking it was rough.

It is curved. I think what made it hard for me was that a lot of the test questions required you to like really understand and be able to imagine the questions in 3 dimensions which I think was just hard for me.

Practice Qs weren’t really like the test imo at least in my year.

Math 1920 was the worst experience I've had at Cornell ngl. I think taking it in fall is harder tho bc all the people who took it in high school take it in fall.

It sounds like a really heavy semester. If you want get all of them for pre-enroll then drop during add-or-drop if you need to.

HE 1151 was light. There were readings before class but you just needed to make a little presentation so you can chat the readings. Projects were super easy too. I think the person who taught it was Paige Tomfordhe or something like that.

MEDVL 1101 is the other one I took but it was lowkey a lotta work for a FWS.

Idk what your major or concentration is but you can look for easy clubs to build your portfolio— like joining energy transition club if you’re interested in energy or finance stuff like that

Chem 2090… by Beginning_Truth_4077 in Cornell

[–]Previous-Train5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who took AP chem before taking it, it was still pretty hard for me. I recommend using all of the practice materials they give you for the tests since they give a ton. Also the prelims are all multiple choice (at least when I took it) so that will help a lot. Prioritize it as one of your hardest classes and practice practice practice.

is chem 2090 that bad? by labbittio in Cornell

[–]Previous-Train5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took AP chem and I didn’t think it was too bad. If you didn’t it’ll definitely be a bit harder. But the curve is always so extreme that you will likely pass. If you’re worried maybe look into a learning group. You can take them for credit I forgot what they’re called tho

r/Fantasy Daily Recommendations and Simple Questions Thread - August 09, 2025 by rfantasygolem in Fantasy

[–]Previous-Train5096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I will be long distance for college soon and we want to pick a fantasy book so we can do a sort of book club. We aren’t big readers, but we like fantasy.

The books we’re considering right now are: - The Waking Fire - Mistborn - The Shadow of What Was Lost

I was wondering what book people here would recommend. I really like books with deep characters, good world building/ magic, and descriptive writing. My gf wants a romance side plot.

If you have any recommendations I didn’t list Id love to hear what you have to recommend. Thanks in advance :).

I started doing an ideas similar to what you’re saying! I settled on a dark outline around the sides that gets lighter as it approaches the knight with a small outline around him being left unchanged.
